The Unified Lakeshore Kingdoms, also known as The Lakeshore Kingdoms or just simply Lakeshore, is the third union between Terredepaix and Paxaris, which includes Paxaris' puppet states, Canemutus, and Vendaliba. The Union has a central government, which is made up of Terredepaix, Paxaris, and Canemutus. Their heads of state are all the rulers of the Union, and share this title with each other. The Union currently has 4 members.
Etymology
The name of the union comes from the fact that it is in the U.S state of Michigan. Michigan is surrounded by the Great Lakes, therefore, so is the union. So, it is a union of lakeshore kingdoms. The Union used to be called the commonwealth of Unioniste, which were the words “union” and a suffix that is currently unknown.
History
The union was founded on September 18, 2022, by King William Brown of Terredepaix and King Xander Mintz of Paxaris, after relations between their 2 micronations has recently skyrocketed, and their friendship hit an all-time high. This was the third union Terredepaix and Paxaris had created. They immediately made a treaty for it, and a few days later, a constitution, which included a bill of rights of sorts.
Goal to last longer than 2 weeks
King William and King Xander are determined to make this union last longer than 2 weeks. Currently, it has existed for 10 days and has 5 days to go before it reaches its goal of lasting longer than 2 weeks.
Adoption of a Central Government
On September 27, 2022, the Democratic Kingdom of Vendaliba was admitted to the Union, and added to it. This caused a central government for the union to be created. It is described below.
Period of Mourning for King William’s old dog, Maverick
On September 28, 2022, one year after king William’s old dog Maverick died, Terredepaix went into a week long period of mourning to recognize this significant date and remember Maverick. Likewise, Paxaris did so as well, causing relations between both nations to skyrocket. William thinks that this shows the strength and bond between Terredepaix and Paxaris and how they can really get along like they do in this Union.
Government
The Union is governed as a Triumvirate, with the heads of state of Terredepaix, Paxaris, and Canemutus sharing equal rule and power, although the heads of state of Paxaris and Terredepaix have more powers, responsibilities, and abilities than the head of state of Canemutus does.
Shori Parliament
The Shori Parliament is the official legislature of the Union, with an upper house, the Shori House of Representatives, and a lower house, the House of Lawmakers.
House of Representatives of the Unified Kingdoms
The House of Representatives of the Unified Kingdoms is the upper house of the Shori Parliament. It has representatives, which are citizens, from each member state. The representatives from each state represent the state's issues, needs, news, etc., and are required to deliver a report on the state of their kingdom every month when the Shori Parliament meets. The number of representatives each state gets is 5. If this quota is unable to be met, then all the current citizens of the state will become representatives of that state.
House of Lawmakers
The House of Lawmakers is the lower house of the Shori Parliament and suggests and votes on Bills to be sent to the heads of state of Terredepaix, Paxaris, and Canemutus to look at and vote on. If the bill gets a majority vote from the parliament, and the monarchs of the Union, then it will be passed into law. The law can be vetoed by any member state, and if that occurs, another vote in the House of Lawmakers will be held, and if the law once again obtains a majority vote, it will stay a law.
Controversy
When the union was formed on September 18, 2022, it caused some controversy in the MPA, or Micronational Peace Alliance, (of which Paxaris and Terredepaix are both founding members), because of their past unions that uncannily only lasted for 2 weeks each. Due to this, King William and King Xander are determined to make this union last more than 2 weeks, and due to the treaties and constitution that this one has that the other unions didn’t, William and Xander think that this union has a pretty decent chance at surviving for a while.
Members
The union is made up of the Kingdoms of Terredepaix and Paxaris, the Republic (which is a de facto kingdom) of Canemutus, and the Democratic Kingdom of Vendaliba. Though, Paxaris and Terredepaix are the main members that make up the union. It is also made up of Paxaris’ previous commonwealth states that it had before the Union's creation.
Joining the Union
New members could join if they wish, by filling in an application form, getting approval from the heads of state of Terredepaix and Paxaris, and singing the Union’s treaty.
