Contested deletion

I would like to contest the Speedy Deletion proposal, on the basis that it by-and-large revolves around notable well-publicised events, perhaps most notably the 1969 destruction of the Republic of Rose Island. It should be noted also the subject matter has been marked as bearing importance with the Vital Article wikiproject. Assuming that the particular offending items from 2022–2023 can be largely scrubbed (which, given the obvious recency bias, would dramatically improve the articles quality), then I'd say we are more than fine to keep this up and running. Unfortunatelly, those "offending items from 2022-2023" include my name along with my friends' names. This has caused major controversy and people are calling us out about it. This is why it must be deleted, because people can still see it on google whether we edit the article or not. This is because our names are on the history of the article.
It has already been established that this article will be rewritten after deleted. Cafaerc10 (talk) 15:04, 22 September 2023 (UTC)Reply[reply]
