History

In 2016, Wilson Hills had its start as the Kingdom of Orchard Park, which only laid claim to a field and a playground in the westernmost part of the State. Orchard Park and its successor existed as a political entity for 2 years, until it became West Springfield, which existed for two more years, until 2020, when it was dissolved.

Kingdom of Orchard Park

The Kingdom of Orchard Park was a monarchical micronation that existed briefly in June 2016, in the playground of a local school. It's monarch was Andrew, he and his family controlled the government of the fledgling nation until it collapsed in July 2016, due to more pressing matters.

In the later part of 2017 there was renewed interest in Orchard Park, and by December, it had a threat from within a section of the capital city of Lewistown, known as Harryville. Harryville was smaller in size than Lewistown, but had a fierce population. On December 4, the people of Harryville decided to take control of Orchard Park, and launched an attack. For a few brief minutes it looked like the attackers were going to defeat the Park Guard, yet in the end, Harryville was subdued, and their leader forced into a month-long exile.

Name Change, 2018

On the 23rd of March, 2018, the President and the Vice President weren't satisfied with the name 'Orchard Park Republic'. Together, they changed the name of the Republic 'Ozark Stream Republic', named after the wet-weather stream within the nation and with some influence from the Indian Stream Republic.

Military, then Madean Rule

For 13 hours on the 12th of June, 2018, after a period of decline the President of Ozark Stream announced that the Republic was no more, and that it was now controlled by the military. The international community strongly protested this, and ultimately caused the President to revoke that order, and kept Ozark Stream a republic.

Two days later on the 14th, Ozark stream - the Missouri-based micronation - decided to merge with the Republic of Madea, an Arizona-based micronation. As one they formed the Confederation of Madark, each Republic kept their rights, only the matter of foreign affairs was left up to the central government. The confederation lasted 2 days, no constitution was ever written.

Formation of West Springfield

After the collapse of the Confederation of Madark, the Ozark Stream Republic ended its 2-year history on July 18, 2018.

A week later, on July 23, West Springfield was formed.

Beginnings with Delvera

On September 15, 2018, nearly 2 months after it was formed, West Springfield sent in an application to become a province of the Grand Republic of Delvera. This came after a Republic-wide democratic vote on whether or not to join, which was pro-Delvera.

Following the Delveran Chamber of Deputies, and their Council of Governors both voting in favor of allowing West Springfield to join, including a 2-month integration period, West Springfield became a province of Delvera on November the 5th, 2018.

Name Change, 2019

For a period of 2 weeks in May 2019, West Springfield took name suggestions, among them were names like: Bodark, Bodark Hills, Cedar, Karst, Moon-City, Ozark, Webster, Wilson Hills, and Wilson's Creek. All names would've started with "State of", eventually "State of Wilson Hills" was chosen.

Dissolution

On February 17, 2020, at the tail end of 3 years of history, and after months of inactivity, the State of Wilson Hills, still a province of Delvera, dissolved. The Consul of Delvera at the time, Dylan Callahan, released a short speech on Facebook, saying not to look on the situation with a bitter attitude, but rather to remember the times spent with one another.

Government

Kingdom of Orchard Park

The Kingdom of Orchard Park had a very unstable government. It was a self proclaimed monarchy, although there was considerable influence on the monarch's decisions from the average citizenry. No documents were made from that period.

Ozark Stream Republic

The Ozark Stream Republic, which itself was Orchard Park with a different government and title, had a slightly more stable government than its predecessor. It was by all intents and purposes a presidential republic, with representatives and the president being chosen by the citizenry. Not many documents were made from that time, and any that were have been lost to time.

Wilson Hills Federation

The Wilson Hills Federation had a couple different governments, was a federation, then a republic. Compared to its predecessors, Wilson Hills was a lot more stable, with monthly congressional meetings, a constitution, and surviving documents, and bills, among other things. By the time of its dissolution, it was a province of the Grand Republic of Delvera, with a triumvirate (de jure, in practice it was a diarchy) controlling the province, and making laws.

Geography

The Kingdom of Orchard Park, the Ozark Stream Republic, and the State of Wilson Hills, all have changed what portions of land they claimed.

Kingdom of Orchard Park

The Kingdom of Orchard Park claimed the playground of a local school, and adjoining land. Inside of their claims stood several jungle-gyms, a single paved trail, a small wet-weather stream, and a basketball court.

Ozark Stream Republic

The Ozark Stream Republic claimed the playground of a local school, a large field, and some houses. Inside of that was a paved asphalt street, several paved trails, many trees and many types of grasses, with the occasional deer, turkey, or coyote walking through. Their claims were divided into 3 areas.

Geleng/Great Step was 8 acres of an uninhabited field. Greater Bailemore consisted of the whole playground area, all of the houses, and Wilson's County, which was a naval base on Wilson's Creek, detached from the rest of the Republic.

Wilson Hills Federation

The State of Wilson Hills fluctuated their claims every so often, so this will be divided into 2 years.

2018

  • Alexandria was the capital of the State. It hosted the National Congress and was centrally located. Instead of being a separate district, Alexandria was within the state of Kay Pointe.
  • Kay Pointe was the largest state by both area and population, however it only had 1 registered civilian. It had a seat in Congress and hosted the Capital.
  • Madison had a lot of fields and the most fauna, it contained the old areas of Orchard Park and Ozark Stream. It had a permanent seat in Congress.
  • Lombard contained the naval base of old, and the north-western shoreline of Wilson's Creek. It had a permanent seat in Congress, but their only citizen resigned from that post.
  • Wilson Territory had the south-eastern shoreline of Wilson's creek, no houses, and a paved trail. It had no representation in Congress.

2019

After some changes in the government, states were no more. The important areas centered around bases of operation.

  • Fort Tuscaloosa: Ft. Tuscaloosa was named after the hometown of Alex C. It is in a state of ruin and hasn't been maintained.
  • Fort Osage: Ft. Osage acted as the last capital of the State. While not in the same woods as the other bases, it was surrounded by trees and outlined with large rocks.
  • Fort Montana: Ft. Montana was directly south of Fort Osage, it was seldom visited.
  • Fort Joplin: Ft. Joplin was the largest and most developed of all bases. It was in the woods, ontop of a hill, with marked pathways and natural defenses.
