Staskhaikstan, officially the Staskhaikstan Caucasian Federation was a micronation founded in 2015 by Armen Nazarian and Logan Courtney. It was located in central Ohio, entirely inside the Granville Township. Staskhaikstan was disbanded some time in early 2016, but later became the predecessor to the Micronation of Sawdustistan.

Etymology

The name of Staskhiakstan has no real etymology, except for the suffix "istan". That means the name of Staskhaikstan translates to The land of the Staskhaiks.

The origin of the name for Staskhaikstan was inspired by the fictitious nation, Arstotzka, from the video game Papers Please. Logan Courtney at the time took found of the name Arstotzka and used a similar pronunciation of it to come up with the name Staskhaikstan.

History

The nation of Staskhaikstan was envisioned by Logan Courtney, who was inspired by the recently formed Micronation named Fianna. Logan heard about Fianna by his friend Ethan Hendrickson, who founded and led Fianna in July 2015. Logan took the Micronation idea and proposed it to his friend Armen Nazarian. Soon after, they both formed the nation of Staskhaikstan in July 2015.

During its short time alive, only a few things were achieved. Most notably were the creation of the flag, coat of arms, anthem, and the formation of a capital. Staskhaikstan did not have any major events in its history, and only a handful of archived images about it exist. Nearly all the history were from the memories of people who were involved with it.

Early 2016 marked the end of Staskhaikstan, with the leaving of Logan. He left the nation with no explained reason, thus leaving Armen as the sole active citizen. Shortly thereafter, Armen also abandoned the nation because of the apparent stagnation inside the Staskhaikstan. The idea of forming a Micronation though stuck with Armen, which he would later use for the idea of Sawdustistan.

Government

The government of Staskhaikstan was a Co-Consul system. Where the entire nation was ruled by two people named Consuls. The Consuls had complete control over the entire nation, yet one Consul could not solely approve a decision. Any decisions within the government needed to have both Consuls approve it.

Foreign Relations

During its short run, Staskhaikstan had foreign connections with the nation of Fianna. Nothing much was achieved except for mutual recognition from both nations and brief discussions about each other's nation.

Administrative Divisions

Staskhaikstan had only two states during its existence. None of them were named, but they were the predecessors to the settlements of Nazarivan led by Armen Nazarian and Kolechia, led by Logan Courtney.
