The Sports Committee of Arlandica (SCAR; Filipino: Komisyon sa Palakasan ng Arlandika) is an Arlandican government agency under the Ministry of Home Affairs responsible for maintaining and administering sports related activities in the kingdom. The agency is responsible for facilitating sporting arenas and ventures to the people and also the one who hosts various sporting events in Arlandica.
It also functions as the National Olympic Committee representing Arlandica. The country is affiliated with the Micronational Olympic Federation (MOF).
History
The committee succeeds the Lebetaryan Sports Committee, established during the independent Commonwealth of Lémarita in September 2020, before Lémarita joined Arlandica on July 6, 2022. The predecessor agency had already organized small-scale virtual sports events, such as the Accande Terrie Ornindo (ATO) Games, Lebetaryan Summer Games, and Lebetaryan Rainy Games, which were partially successful.
The Sports Committee of Arlandica (SCAR) was initially inaugurated on August 25, 2022, with Benz Gian Arellano serving as the Officer-in-Charge, later becoming the chairman.
On April 10, 2024, SCAR was recognized by the Micronational Olympic Federation when the country joined. It was subsequently reorganized on June 18, through the enactment of Act of Parliament No. 33.
Structure
The committee is composed of a chairman, appointed by the monarch, who will serve as the administrator, and two (2) commissioners, appointed by the chairman.
Sports events
The first National Games are scheduled to take place around the month of November 2024, although discussions are still ongoing.
Participation
SCAR will participate in next year's micronational Olympic games.
