Etymology

The term "Slawenland" comes from the German language (ger. slawen-Slavs, land-land) and since the 9th century has been used in relation to the Slavic territories colonized by the Germans.

In the modern sense, it began to be used in April 2022. Previously it referred to the wetlands of the southern coast of Lake Medwie, but after the abandonment of the plan to locate the Slawenland state there in favor of a torpedo platform on the same lake, the name began to be used in relation to the platform.

History

The beginning of the history of Slawenland is considered to be April 2022. It was then that the idea of Slawenland was born. The flag chosen was the flag that in the future will become the flag of the capital of Slawenland, the city of Slawengard.

Bridges were built in the swamps between tiny islands. However, later, the Slawenlandian proto-government agency discovered a torpedo platform on the same lake. This was a turning point.

Already on May 20, 2023, the first expedition was sent there. This is considered the founding date of Slawenland. Further, on September 1, 2023, the Slawenland Navy was created, after which, on September 2, 2023, the independence of the Grand Duchy of Slawenland was declared. The Constitution of Slavenland was adopted on September 3, 2023.

Why this platform? The answer is actually quite simple. This platform was a special object of the Luftwaffe, which ceased to exist after World War II, and the document on its transfer to the Polish Republic simply does not exist. Thus, she was terra nullius, that is, she did not belong to anyone. This gave the basis that, according to international law, Slawenland has the right to be a full-fledged entity on the world stage.
