The Second Starlander Civil War was a civil conflict in the Empire of Starland that was fought between the Imperial Militia and the Confederate Army of the Starland Confederate Social Republic. The war came amid months of continuous civil unrest and instability. The March transition into an empire had been met my opposition by both the left and right spectrums. The political crises in May following the radical communist coup d'etat sent the nation spiraling into civil unrest that never stopped. Even after the restoration and election of a new government, the conflict continued. In June, the Prime Minister was set to undergo surgery, leading many to voice their call for her resignation. Her refusal to leave, coupled with the diplomatic recognition of a state that some members of Parliament and the public were opposed by, lit the fuse. Upon her return, she tipped a tie in Parliament by voting in favor of this diplomatic recognition and alliance. Civil unrest erupted in mid-June, nearly resulting in war at that time. Two of Starland's six states at the time, divided themselves from the rest of the nation. In Harboria, the state itself divided. After three days, calmer heads prevailed but tensions remained high. The demise of the Starland economy at the end of June sent things over the edge again and the resignation of top military leaders left the Armed Forces and the nation heavily disorganized. The government simply lost control and, by July 4, civil war had engulfed the nation.

Engagements

The first two battles, fought on July 3, were the first opening shots by the Confederacy. War was not declared until the following day.
First Battle of Gordonia

Siege of Lanzagrad
On July 4, Imperials advance on the capital of the Democratic People's Republic of Wooden Valley (DPRWV) as government and rebel troops engage in three day battle for supremacy. Imperials storm People's Palace on July 7 and Confederates surrender. Wooden Valley Chairman and Confederate military leader, Nickolas Lanza, demands to be taken prisoner and let the Confederates evacuate the city. Imperials agree to terms. Imperial victory.
Second Battle of Creekside
Confederate offensive of engaging the Imperials near Creekside. Confederates attack from the south and work their way north. Imperials in the area take cover in the vineyards where the center of the battle took place. Confederates managed to take advantage of the terrain and turn the offensive into a defensive position routing the Imperials and retaking Creekside and the eastern part of Wooden Valley. Confederate victory.
Second Battle of Gordonia
Imperial seizure of the Territory by routing the Confederate army and forcing them back to Berryessa. Imperials seize playground fortresses and advance towards Monticello. Imperial Victory.
Siege/Second Battle of Monticello
Imperial offensive against rebel stronghold in Monticello. Imperials take control of Monticello Hill and advance down into the Berryessan capital. Imperials surround Monticello for a day and a half engaging in repeated assualts. Imperials eventually surrender and retreat after entering the capital and becoming overwhelmed by Confederate soldiers and their hold on the city. General Bottomley is taken as a prisoner by the Confederates in exchange for his men a safe evacuation. Confederate Victory.
Battle of Harboria
Confederate engagement with Imperial Militia to recapture Harborian Republic. Confederates are successful and propel them into advance on Molovia.
Lanzagrad Skirmish
On July 14, Confederate troops march into Lanzagrad with a split squad army, engaging the small garrison of Imperials. The battle lasted less than ten minutes with the Confederates storming the People's Palace, forcing Imperials to abandon the city, and reclaiming the DPRWV. Confederate victory.
Third Battle of Gordonia
On July 15h, Confederates force engagement with Imperials in a third, yet small, sustained battle in the Territory. Heavily outnumbered, the Imperials surrender and leave Gordonia to be reclaimed by the Starland Confederate Social Republic.
Siege of Molovia
On July 12, Confederates advanced on the Imperial stronghold in the Social Republic of Molovia. On the afternoon of July 15, Her Excellency Prime Minister Victoria Benjamin proposed a ceasefire and called for peace talks.

Empire Falls

On July 18, Her Excellency Prime Minister Victoria Benjamin and Her Imperial Majesty Empress Star I agreed to reform the Empire into social democratic republic. Empress Star I abdicated the throne and the Empire was declared over.

Treaty of Molov

After the abdication of the Empress and the declaration of the social democratic republic, the two factions met in the Molovian capital, Molov, to discuss a treaty. In the document, the majority of the reperations for the war (about 67%) would be payed for by the Democratic People's Republic of Wooden Valley, Republic of Berryessa, and the Harborian Republic, which were the Confederate states. The rest would be payed for by the new government. In addition, the capital would be moved to Molov.
