The Second Kingdom of Vernonium is a sovereign nation located in the Driftless Region in Central North America. The country is surrounded on all sides by the US state of Wisconsin. With a size of 54,281 m², it has an estimated 20 citizens.
The land in which Vernonium stands was first inhabited by the Native American Ho-Chunk nation since the 1630s. Though there is no native presence in Vernonium.
History
The first known people to inhabit Vernonian land were Ho-Chunk people in the 1630s, shortly after the French Spanish and British briefly controlled the land until becoming American. In 2020 the Monarchy was established and the Augustine reign over the First Kingdom had begun. In 2021, Vernonium briefly became the United Provinces of the Boneyard until the monarchy was restored over a month later.
Etymology
The name Vernonium is derived from the name of the US county Vernonium was formed in, Vernon County.
