The Western Pacific Republic (or known as Republic of West Pacific) is an e-governed micronation situated through the dataservers of the United States and the European Union. The Republic is believed to be 12,000,000kmsq of influence and claimed to have 600,000 citizens living through out the influenced area. The Republic of West Pacific shares many similarities with the United States in terms of the Constitution, the Government, political culture and federal states.
History
Early Foundation (2007-2015)
The Republic of Western Republic gained independence from the United States on the 20th May 2007. There isn't much information during the time because there isn't a digital archive avaliable. The idea started out as a children's play but as time goes on, the idea became serious and lead to the creation of the Constitution, then declared independence.
Digital Age and Discord Era (2015-2019)
In this era, the social platform Discord was introduced as a way to connect to the global network. In a short period, the Republic declared itself as an electronic micronation with an e-Government. However, during this period wasn't much of a success because the discord server has less than 100 members without much activity. The government and elections still runs however in elections, the voter turnout are very low.
Instability Period (2019-2022)
The Republic has been in a constant political instability between the Republican Party and the Democratic Party. Most of time, many Presidents have either resigned or impeached, most of the president were very weak in political influence and didn't stay for very long. One president, Michael Robert Trench, was an authoritarian president during his first term of presidency. He won presidency because of his successful management on the Furry Apocalypse of 2021 that lead him to be popular amongst the Republican Party.
Micheal's new policy are contrevorsal and some are still in effect like the Anti-Furry Fandom proclamation and Terrorist removal act of 2021.
In early 2022, the newly-elected Chairman of the Democratic National Committee Diane Foxington, declared her candidacy for president against the authoritarian president. The election was heavily rigged by both parties and Foxington won the presidency. A truce and resolution was made between the Republicans and the Democrats and Michael Robert Trench was appointed as the Speaker of the House of Representatives and was aquitted from all charges.
Post Instability Era (2022-2023)
After the "disappearance" of President Foxington, the Vice President Turantula was sworn into office but in two day, she also resigned and Michael rose back to power for the second time. His progressive view made a huge impact after passing the Education qualifications in an outstanding standards. Michael continue to enforce Foxington's policies and soon he was elected into a third term in a landslide victory.
During his third term, Michael accidentially cause some serious issue with other associations. The democrats calls it "the worse mistake made since his first term". The democrats calls for impeachment and with corruption inside the Republican Party, they successfully impeached President Michael and appointed the Secretary of State Blinken to become President. President Blinken dissolved Congress and resigned making Michael declared President and convert to Confederacy.
Confederacy (9 April 2023-21 May 2023)
The Confederation of Western Pacific was established replacing the old Republic. President of the Confederate Michael Trench appointed all his former cabinet members and Confederacy Congress was established. His government has dissolved the Democratic Party in response of his impeachment. He continued to enforce his progressive policies while under national crisis.
Restoration (21 May 2023- present)
After months as a Confederate nation, the President made a truce with the defunct-Democratic Party to restore the old Republic. Democrats agreed and a new Constituion was written and ratified immediately. President Michael continue to lead his government until his resignation on 3rd June 2023 when he appointed Normandy Scott to be his successor.
Government and Politics
Government
The Republic of Western Pacific is an e-Government federal constituional republic with 10 federal states and 1 federal district. The government is divided into 3 branches accordingly to the Constituion.
- The Western Pacific Congress, a bicameral legislature, made up of the Senate and the House of Representatives. The legislature works together to pass bills into law, approve tax modification, modify the national budget and apporving resolution and initiatives from the President.
- The President is the commander-in-chief of the military and the research department, the chief of staff in the Administration and modify the national budget without any congressional approval.
- The Supreme Court and lower federal courts, decides if a law is unconstitutional, settle many states' argument either state against state, state against the federal government and vice versa.
Political Culture
The Republican Party (RPWP) has been the sole dominant-party in the political ground of the Republic when it comes to controlling the Congress for a long time.
The Republican-controlled Congress has a controversial history when it comes to enforcing their political agenda of anti-LGBT and against the furry fandom. For the majority of its control, the Republican lawmakers has impeached nearly all the Democratic politican from every single office. This lead to many political divisions on the Congress floor.
However, the Democratic-controlled Congress has the same history as the Republican Party. For some time, many Republican lawmakers and politicians has been impeached from office. They attempted to stage a coup to overthrow the President and nearly succeeded.
Many political analyst has described it as a vulnerablitiy to a civil war. Others have critizied the Congress for many human rights violations.
Political Parties
According to the Constituion, each citizen has the rights to establish a political party to contest in a local or federal election. The requirements to establish a political party are:
- Must have at least 80 members
- Must have a governing body (A committee, a congress...)
- Must have a party constitution or a party manifesto
- Must be registered with the Electoral Commission
There are a total of 2 active major political parties and 1 active minor political party.
