The Reformation Referendum held in The Sovereign Military Kingdom of the Land of the Bears on August 27th 2022 was a referndum to decide if Williams so called "4 Principles" Would be implemented.

  1. Enlightenment
  2. Abolishment of feudalism
  3. New model representative democracy
  4. Reform of Free Market

The Referendum was called in response to Williams growing movement within the land of the bears, and figures such as Jamie I of the Bears and then Prime Minister EMORA saw it as a way to stomp out the movement which they saw as a significant threat to the future of the nation.

William initially argued against the referendum, staing "he needed more time" but later on came to accept it and even voting no in the final vote.

The election was highly contentious and saw immense campaigning and debate by both the vote yes and no campaigns, especailly vote No who released the now famous Campaign video involving many foreign leaders of the bear commonwealth who were all deeply opposed to william himself and his policies.

Vote No argued that William was inexperienced and his previous project "The Union" had failed abysmally, which he later called an "experiment" many questions Why he was experimenting with a nation that had 61 years of history? Many saying it could forsee the collapse of the nation, much like his union.

Vote Yes comparitively had no real rebuttle to these claims, and stated that the nation needed reform and feudalism must end.

The campaign was not subject to just The land of the bears, William was also trying to influence much of it's sphere in the commonwealth nations whose leaders opposed the reforms aswell. Those included figures such as, King Yassin of Ardesoda, High King Oliver of Welland, Queen Laurel of Golden Hill, Oswald Zaroff of Allastoria and Issai V of The Great Republic of Rome. These people were key in the destruction of Williams chances and co - Produced The vote no campaign video and the vote no campaign as a whole.
