Public Holidays in the State of Land

Public holidays in the State of Land are of two types: National and International celebrated holidays.

History

Public holidays weren't celebrated in the State of Land until the State Decree no. 3 was signed by Rey on July 9, 2024.[1]

The State Decree no. 3 of Land recognized 20 official holidays in Land splitted into two different types: International holidays (also known as Non-related Land Holidays) and National holidays (also known as Land related holidays). 16 of which were international holidays and 4 were national holidays.[2]

On August 2, 2024. Land transitioned to a provisional government and dissolving the diarchy and holidays related to national personalities were removed as per State Decree no. 4.[3]

International holidays

The sixteen international holidays celebrated in the State of Land are divided into three different categories: Secular, Filipino-related, and Religious holidays.

Secular holidays

Secular holidays are a type of holidays recognized by the State of Land that is celebrated around the world that isn't recognized with religious activities.

October 31 Halloween Gabi ng Pangangaluluwa[c] Also known as Hallowe'en, a tradition well known in the holiday is trick-or-treating.

Filipino-related holidays

Filipino-related holidays are a type of holidays recognized by the State of Land that celebrates important events in the Philippine history.

The flag of the State of Land would be flown in a half-mast state to pay respect for these holidays.[4]

August 26 National Heroes' Day Araw ng mga Bayani An observed holiday in the Philippines that commemorates filipino national Heroes.
November 30 Bonifacio Day Ang kaarawan ni Andres Bonifacio[d] A holiday in the Philippines that commemorates one of its national Heroes, Andrés Bonifacio. Known as the "The Father of Philippine Revolution".
December 30 Rizal Day Ang kaarawan ni Jose Rizal[e] A holiday in the Philippines that commemorates one of its national Heroes, José Rizal. A Filipino nationalist, writer and polymath.

Religious holidays

Currently, as per the State Decree no. 3. The State of Land celebrates two religions' holidays: Christianity and Islam.[5]

February 28 – March 29 Eid al-Fitr عيد الفطر (ʿĪd al-Fiṭr) A holiday Muslims celebrate after Ramadan, and marks the end of the month-long dawn-to-dust fasting.
June 17 Eid al-Adha عيد الأضحى (ʿĪd al-ʾAḍḥā) Commemoration of Abraham (Ibrahim)'s willingness to sacrifice his son in obedience to a command from God.

End of the annual Hajj in Mecca for those present there.

September 1 – December 25 Christmas Pasko The State of Land follows the Ber Months in the Philippines. A holiday commemorating the birth of Jesus Christ.

National holidays

The two national holidays in the State of Land are celebrated by commemorating important events in Landman history.
