Axel Himberg's tenure as the first president of the Sovereign State of Åland began on 25 October 2024. Himberg took office after no one else wanted to run for president leading to him automatically becoming the president. Himberg had formally been president of the Åland State and Republic of Åxenö. Himberg would also become a member in the parliament of the State of Åland.
Start of the presidential term
Himberg became the president automatically after no one else wanted to run for president.[1] He would start his term as president on 25 October 2024.[1]
Administration
On 15 November 2024, Himberg would found the Nation Bureau of Presidential Investigation (NBPI).[2] The NBPI was founded to stop the president from abusing judicial powers.[2] The NBPI is allowed to remove the president and replace the president with a new president.[2] Also on 15 November Himberg would found the Åland Space Technological Administration (ÅSTA).[3]

Currently no one has been choosen as a minister. Himberg has also decided to be the chief of justice. Himberg will have to choose a minister of and labor. On 16 November Himberg would appoint Marius Åkerblom as the minister of environment.[4]
Domestic affairs
Immigration
On 13 November 2024, Himberg would sign Himberg would sign Executive Order 2, State of Åland overpopulation problem solution.[5] The Executive Order would state a cap on how many immigrants are allowed in and include them into the general population cap.[5]
Security
On 13 November 2024, Himberg would sign Executive Order 1, Defending the State of Åland from overpopulation and crime.[6] The executive order would state that moving to the State of Åland is not allowed and that anyone who has committed a crime outside of the State of Åland will be deported.[6] On the same day, Himberg would sign Executive Order 2, State of Åland overpopulation problem solution.[5] The Executive Order would put a cap on the current population allowed in the State of Åland.[5]
States
Himberg would also on 15 November sign the States act founding the first two states of Börkö and Forst.[7]
