The People's Republic of Niagara, informally known as Niagara or The Niagara[1] is a recently-founded Socialist micronation in North America. It is lead by Chairman of the Council of People's Commissars Logan Ferguson. It was founded in late 2023 and is hosted through Discord. Niagara claims small territories in the Regional Municipality of Niagara.
Etymology
"Niagara" comes from the Niagara River, a river near the claimed territory of Niagara. However, the name also comes from the Niagara Escarpment and the Niagara Region, with the Escarpment being a large cuesta running through the Niagara Region, the Regional Municipality where the PRN is located.
History
On 22 November 2023, the People's Republic of Niagara was declared as the legal successor to the People's Republic of Corwin, an old micronation lead by Ferguson. Around the same time, Niagara and the Commonwealth of Faltree started diplomatic relations, with the PRN becoming a core member of the International Workers Congress. Niagara is currently planning to hold elections, but the date on which they will occur is currently being discussed within the upper Government of the PRN.
Government and politics
Niagara is a Dictatorship of the Proletariat, but has a multi-party system, albeit in one united front, similar to the Democratic People's Republic of Korea. However, so far, there is only one political party, the RCPN, which is also the ruling and founding party of the PRN.

Economic System
Niagara doesn't really have any actual economy, being a micronation almost exclusively based online, but there are plans to create a "Niagaran Dollar" at some point in the near future. This planned economy will, for lack of a better term, be a "Planned Economy", also known as a "Socialist Economy".

Municipalities serve as the subdivisions of Socialist Niagara. However, only small bits are controlled officially.
