Operation Cakrama was an Olovian-led military operation occurring since 3-4 June, 2023, in the 2023 Ondernaming civil conflict, the operation was aimed at advancing, and reclaiming strategic Mikaelist territorial areas by encircling them, which were under the control by the Phojam local gangsters. The operation involved over fifteen Olovian soldiers, backed by five Olovian-controlled Ondernaming patrols. Operation Cakrama commenced at around 16:20 PM (UTC+7).[1]

The operation marked the end of the civil conflict between the Olovian-central government and the Mikaelist faction, with some ongoing claimed skirmishes and disputes with the Phojam local gangsters.

Background

Olovian statesman and president Saleh A.H, along with Lt. Muhammad Farhan, Sgt. Yudis, and Lt. Ucok T. were conferring regarding the Ondernaming civil-conflict and seeks for a military operation. With an effort to destabilize the Mikaelist anti-Saleh faction.

Timeline of operation

Commencement of the Cakrama operation

After the official commencing of the Cakrama operation, some local gates were closed by some Olovian soldiers, barring Mikaelist militias from getting their path to Northeastern Ondernaming, in an effort to block their path, the outpost was also held by the Olovian local patrols.

On the same day, the Olovian soldiers persisted in controlling nearby Ondernaming areas, Sgt. Yudis, the Olovian sergeant who led the operation, continues on pushing the soldiers to maintain and control the nearby Ondernaming areas, with efforts against Mikaelist militias.

At around 21:35 PM (UTC+7), soldiers of the Northeastern Ondernaming squad I/Cakrama allegedly fired an estimated eight pyrotechnic shots, the firing directs at the Mikaelist territorial areas, leading to possible property damages belonging to Mikaelist militias. Lt. Muhammad Farhan was alleged to be responsible for the firing.[2]

On 5 June, 2023, at around 3:15 AM (UTC+7), the Olovian president Saleh A.H unofficially claimed that over 1-3 Mikaelist militias were possibly "lightly injured" throughout the Olovian pyrotechnic firing attack on Mikaelist areas, he has also stated that he was not responsible for the injuries allegedly made by Lt. Muhammad Farhan. Saleh A.H also considered that the actions that were allegedly made by Lt. Muhammad Farhan were justified, for defending an effort on striking Mikaelist militias. He certified that more Olovian military aggressions will be conducted in the near future.[3]

6 June 2023: Romansyah area ambush

On 6 June, 2023, at around 15:48 PM (UTC+7), Olovian Cpl. Faaris Akran Pratama was ordered by the Olovian president Saleh A.H, to organize an attack in the Romansyah area, Ondernaming, in order to regain the area. Cpl. Faaris Akran Pratama was also received two D'cobra AK-47 airsoft by Saleh A.H, with the intention of weaponry use in the ambush.

At around 16:47 PM (UTC+7), Olovian Cpl. Faaris Akran Pratama deployed a skirmish line formation, along with his Olovian soldiers, consisting of four equipped soldiers, prepared to engage in an ambush with the Mikaelist militia group known to be operating in the nearby Romansyah area of SD Negeri Pondok Labu 12 (Pondok Labu Public Elementary School 12 Morning). Throughout a heavy rain, the ambush continues running as Cpl. Faaris Akran Pratama along with his Olovian soldiers immediately charged stealthy within some of the Romansyah area corp trees, while the Mikaelist militias, which were led by Zaf'ar Saputra, tried to counterattack the Faaris-led Olovian soldiers by using equipped canes.

At around 17:14 PM (UTC+7), as the rain continues to fall heavily, the Zaf'ar-led Mikaelist militias, decided to retreat into the surrounding Romansyah areas. Their attempt to strike against the Olovian units has been thwarted, the Faaris-led Olovian soldiers successfully executed their mission, marking a significant Olovian victory during the operation, that has allowed them to regain the areas of Romansyah and a blow to the Mikaelist militias operating in the region.

9 June 2023

On 9 June, 2023, Olovian Sgt. Syaifullah Ferry participated in the Cakrama operation, Sgt. Ferry has also been executing activities and tasks since he participated in the operation.

12 June 2023: Phojam area standoff

On 12 June, 2023, at around 16:37 PM (UTC+7), the Olovian president Saleh A.H, along with Lt. Ucok T. and Sgt. Bilal Nafi led a consisting of six Olovian soldiers, which was deployed at Ondernaming. Sgt. Bilal Nafi was in charge of charging over three more Northeastern Ondernaming squad soldiers, which were equipped with two bicycles, the Bilal-led soldiers were deployed within the Phojam area, a nearby Mikaelist-controlled Ondernaming area. Sgt. Bilal Nafi was also convinced of Sgt. Syaifullah Ferry's presence in the standoff.

At around 17:41 PM (UTC+7), the Mikaelist faction withdrew its militias from the Mikaelist-controlled Phojam area and retreated, declaring a significant Olovian-squad victory during the operation. Sgt. Bilal Nafi gained a reputation for developing a strategy that was effective in fending off the Mikaelist assault.

13 June 2023: Mikaelist northeastern Romansyah counteroffensive

On 13 June, 2023, with high-rising tensions between the Olovian-central government and the Mikaelist faction continuing to escalate for control over the Ondernaming region, Mikaelist Cpl. Iban Rasya, along with Ondernaming neutralist Akbar Setyo Nugroho has decided to temporarily collaborate, against the units of the Olovian-squad, which was led by Cpl. Faaris Akran Pratama.[4]

At around 16:32 PM (UTC+7), the Mikaelist faction militias and the Ondernaming neutralist militias launched an allied-counteroffensive against the soldiers of the Olovian-squads, in the northeastern Romansyah areas, which resulted in failure, the Mikaelist militias suffered some injuries and vehicle damages, as two Mikaelist militia-owned motorcycles were damaged by the Faaris-led Olovian soldiers. Ondernaming neutralist Akbar Setyo Nugroho was also injured due to a shot of two foam bullets, which were aimed at his right eye, Setyo was unintentionally shot by  Cpl. Faaris Akran Pratama.[4]

17 June 2023

On 17 June, 2023, at approximately 17:01 PM (UTC+7), the Olovian president Saleh A.H, accompanied by  Cpl. Faaris Akran Pratama and Sgt. Bilal Nafi, alongside three Olovian soldiers, fired an estimated over sixteen Roman candle pyrotechnic shots, which were aimed at the Mikaelist militias in northeastern Romansyah, the pyrotechnic firing was concluded at around 17:04 PM (UTC+7), resulting in five Mikaelist militias injured, including Mikael Gabriel Rafael, with Cpl. Iban Rasya.[5]

At around 17:22 PM (UTC+7), the Mikaelist faction withdrew its militias to the Phojam area. Additionally, Mikael Gabriel Rafael, the self-declared chief of the Mikaelist faction, fled to the Edwikel area.[5]

18 June 2023

On 18 June, 2023, at around 16:45 PM (UTC+7), three Olovian units fired two Roman candle pyrotechnics, with each loaded with forty shots, the firing was led by the Olovian president Saleh A.H, which triggered the Mikaelist militias, the pyrotechnic firing attack was concluded at around 17:02 PM (UTC+7), which caused two more Mikaelist militias injured. Olovian president Saleh A.H was "satisfied" by the firing attack.[6]

According to the Ondernaming-news report, the firing attack resulted inconclusive, participants of both parties fled from the areas of northwestern Romansyah at around 17:15 PM (UTC+7).[6]

29 June 2023

On 29 June, 2023, at around 16:07 PM (UTC+7), the Olovian president Saleh A.H, alongside with Cpl. Faaris Akran Pratama fired at-least one Roman candle pyrotechnics loaded with ten shots, which caused the Mikaelist militias to flee from the nearby northwestern Romansyah area at around 16:12 PM (UTC+7). Following the attack, Mikaelist commander Iban Rasya criticized Mikael's anti-Arab policy, claiming it to have failed.

On the same day, Syaifullah Ferry was declared that he would skip the proposed visit, with Raihan Bayu Saputra instead attending in his place, a friend of Olovian liuetenant Muhammad Farhan and Olovian sergeant Syaifullah Ferry. Raihan Bayu Saputra met Saleh A.H at the Maria center, Van Engels, at around 17:49 PM (UTC+7), Raihan also received some groceries by Saleh A.H.

4 July 2023

On 4 July, 2023, at around 16:57 PM (UTC+7), at-least two Olovian soldiers, led by Cpl. Faaris Akran Pratama, fired one Roman candle at a Mikaelist gathering in northeastern Romansyah, the firing triggered the Mikaelist militias getting forced to flee once again.

On July 9, 2023, at approximately 17:06 (UTC+7), the Olovian president Saleh A.H initiated a pyrotechnic attack as part of the operation, against the Mikaelist militias in northwestern Romansyah, Ondernaming. The strike caused significant damage to the area. Subsequently, Saleh then fled to the Fadil-Arit area. After his initial retreat, he returned to Romansyah, expressing regret for the damages and acknowledging the strike as a major mistake on his part. In response, the Mikaelist faction condemned Saleh A.H.

At around 17:23 (UTC+7), accompanied by Olovian corporal Faaris Akran Pratama, Saleh A.H conducted a second attack, claiming it to be a more protective and strategic attack aimed at Mikaelist militias in northeastern Romansyah, Ondernaming.

During the attack, the Mikaelist militias expected to repel the attack easily. However, they suffered an unexpected defeat despite outnumbering the Olovian forces, leading to some commanders, including Mikaelist commander Putra Khairudin Akbar, to flee from the combat zone.

Saleh and his forces later began targeting more Mikaelist commanders, with Saleh chanting the Takbir. During the confrontation, Mikael Gabriel Rafael, chief of the Mikaelist faction and gang leader of Phojam 21, suffered a serious injury to his right eye when struck by Saleh with a Roman candle, resulting the attack to conclude at approximately 17:26 (UTC+7), prompting a temporary ceasefire declared by Mikaelist sergeants Iban Rasya and Harits Fudhail Sopandi.

Mikael was immediately supplied with few medical supplies to treat his eye injury. Mikaelist sergeant Iban Rasya attributed the success of the Olovian forces in the attack to their superior weapons and tactics. The attack boosted the morale of the Olovian forces, with few Mikaelist militias and neighboring Indonesian citizens praised the attack.

On July 10, 2023, around 20:18 (UTC+7), Mikael unconditionally declared the surrender of the Phojam 21, effectively ending the civil conflict. Olovian president Saleh A.H was invited to Mikael's residence in Ondernaming, arriving at approximately 20:42 (UTC+7), to demand medical compensation for Mikael's wounded eye.

Following the visit, the Olovian president Saleh A.H addressed the state on at around 23:53 PM (UTC+7). He officially announced the end of the Cakrama operation, signifying the completion of the Olovian mission within Ondernaming.

Aftermath

Lt. Muhammad Farhan and Sgt. Bilal Nafi, received a direct order from Saleh A.H to withdraw Northeastern Ondernaming soldiers from the nearby Ondernaming areas, the withdrawal began on 12 July, 2023 and immediately ended on 14 July, 2023.

With the Olovian-Northeastern Ondernaming soldiers' withdrawal, the withdrawal was viewed positively by neighboring Indonesian local citizens and several Mikaelist militias, which some claimed that Ondernaming became a neutralized region without any Phojam or Olovian involvements.
