Officer Cadet is the trainee rank in all three branches of the Gronean Imperial Armed Forces held by individuals training to be commissioned officers. It ranks below second lieutenant in the army and air force, and midshipman in the navy. The rank was established on 7 September 2023 and is held by trainee Gronean officers during initial training prior to being commissioned.
All commissioned officers in the Gronean military, unless recipients of an honorary commission, spend time as an officer cadet prior to commissioning and receiving a full officer rank.
Insignia
The rank of officer cadet has no insignia officially attached to it. Despite this, sometimes officer cadet are issued a white patch by their respective branch to distinguish them from other servicemen.
