The monarchy of Albia, sometimes referred to as the Albian Monarchy, is the constitutional monarchy of the Kingdom of Albia. The monarchy works based on Divine Right Theory. The current Monarch and Head of State is Luke I of Albia, who founded the monarchy and took the throne on 12 June 2022.
Role
As the monarch is semi-constitutional the monarch can exercise their power how they see fit, as long as it doesn't violate the Constitution of Albia.
Despite this the monarch has some duties required by their position as Head of State. These include:
- Supreme Governor of the Church of Albia
- Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces
- Appointing the Prime Minister of Albia
- Appointing Cabinet Ministers
- Appointing Privy Councillors
- Appointing Great Officers of State
History
The monarchy is the oldest part of the Albian Government. It was founded by Luke I of Albia on 12 June 2022. It was established as a constitutional monarchy but was swiftly changed to semi-constitutional.
Succession Laws
Under the current system, the monarchy follows Absolute Primogeniture. This means that the oldest child of the monarch, regardless of gender, will inherit the throne after the abdication or passing of the monarch.
