Ministry of Finance and Economic Affairs (Easway)
The Ministry Directorate of Finance and Economics Affairs of the Common Union of Easway is the federal executive department of the National Directorate led by the minister of Finance and Economics, who acts as the chief financial head and economic planner of the Co-operative Government. The Ministry is responsible for the chief administration of both the Common Union Treasury and the People's National Bank. The current minister is Alderman of Pomoresia Demitrou Chostacovitch.
History
The ministry was created as part of ministerial reforms which gave more executive authority the federal level on 31 August 2021, then as the Ministry of Economics. It was then part of the federal council's collective ministry. Under the Fifty First Amendment on 17 July 2023, it was transferred to the National Directorate as a secretariat-level portfolio.
Treasury
The Common Union Treasury (CUT) is a governmental agency of the Ministry. The Minister of Finance and Economic Affairs and the Grand Councillor serve as its chief executive officers.
The Treasury was created during the February Emergency on 28 February 2023 through the Emergency Addendum to the Twenty Sixth Amendment. It transferred the governmental powers of financial affairs from the commonwealths' General Directorate to a newly central organ under the administrative authority of the finance ministry.
The Constitution states that the Treasury conducts the duties of "chief financial affairs and decision making regarding the assigned budget of the Co-operative Government, as decided through the national legislature."
