The Mikaelist northeastern Romansyah counteroffensive was a failed counteroffensive by the Anti-Saleh faction (Mikaelist) of the Phojam local gangsters and the Neutral committee (Ondernaming) on 13 June, 2023, and ended on the same day, the counteroffensive was considered as the last major Mikaelist military campaign.
Background
On 13 June, 2023, with high-rising tensions between the Olovian-central government and the Mikaelist faction continuing to escalate for control over the Ondernaming region, Mikaelist Sgt. Iban Rasya, along with Ondernaming neutralist Akbar Setyo Nugroho has decided to temporarily collaborate, against the soldiers of the Olovian-squad, which was led by Saleh A.H and Cpl. Faaris Akran Pratama. Later, Sgt. Bilal Nafi also participated[1]
The counteroffensive
At around 16:32 PM (UTC+7), the Mikaelist faction militias and the Ondernaming neutralist militias launched an allied counteroffensive against the soldiers of the Olovian squads, in the northeastern Romansyah areas, which resulted in failure, the Mikaelist militias suffered some injuries and vehicle damages, as two Mikaelist militia-owned motorcycles were damaged by the Faaris-led Olovian soldiers.
Ondernaming neutralist Akbar Setyo Nugroho was also injured due to a shot of two foam bullets, which were aimed at his right eye, unintentionally shot by Cpl. Faaris Akran Pratama.[1]
Aftermath
After the Ondernaming neutral committee demobilized its militias from northeastern Romansyah, the Mikaelist faction, led by Sgt. Iban Rasya and Sgt. Fariz Isma P. retreated at around 17:15 PM (UTC+7).
Olovian soldier Muhammad Habibi (also known as Bihaebi) gained recognition for single-handedly attacking at least three Mikaelist militias during the counter-offensive. Despite nearly being captured by Mikaelist militias, Pvt. Bihaebi managed to escape from them. He then returned to Van Engels safely along with Saleh A.H.
On 14 December, 2023, Pvt. Bihaebi was promoted to the rank of Corporal of the Olovian military. However, he faced demotion and dismissal on December 20, 2024, due to his support for Israel and for not following orders.
