Midland Split
The Midland Split was a territorial dispute/solution between the Kingdom and Territories of Terredepaix and the Empire of Paxaris, and they’re two respective leaders, King William Brown and Emperor Xander Mintz.

What led up to this
On July 4, 2022, the Kingdom of Terredepaix and the Kingdom of Paxaris unified and merged territorially and politically to form the Great Lakes Union, or GLU, after some heavy consideration from King Xander of Paxaris. This was the first union between the two micronations. On July 18, 2022, the union dissolved, and Paxaris claimed its new borders were going to split the entire lower peninsula of Michigan from mackinaw city. Paxaris would get the right side, and the U.S state of Michigan (or any other micronations that would potentially form there,) were given the left side. The city of Midland, Michigan was in Paxaris’ described territory. This didn’t cause much of a problem until October 9, 2022, when Terredepaix finally got its subdivisions sorted out.
Main Event
King William and King Xander were chatting in the Micronational Peace Alliance discord server, when Xander sent a picture of Paxaris’ borders in Michigan. King William quickly realized that the city of Midland, which Terredepaix had claimed as a province, was in the territory that Paxaris has described after the dissolution of the Great Lakes Union. This sparked a border dispute between the two micronations. King Xander and King William both agreed to jointly occupy the city of Midland until they could solve the border dispute. William wanted to solve it right away, but Xander was pre-occupied with writing an alternate history novel, so the solution was put on hold for the time being.
The Solution (The Midland Split)
On October 13, 2022, Xander decided to solve the border dispute with William. He made a map and a proposal of what they should do to solve the border dispute. The map showed the city of Midland being split between Terredepaix and Paxaris. William agreed, even though Paxaris got a little bit more of Midland than Terredepaix.
