Micronational entity
A micronational entity—also known as a micronation-like entity or pseudo-micronation—is a political entity (polity) or group that closely resembles a micronation, but is ultimately considered to be distinct from such. The term generally refers to entities of similar political status to micronations as opposed to unrecognised states or other aspirant states. Examples of micronational entities generally include (but are not exclusive to) entities predating 1960 that are retroactively identified as micronations—such as the Kingdom of Araucanía and Patagonia (established 1860) and Kingdom of Elleore (1944)—independent mini-nations in Japan, artistic micronations—like Nutopia—and online micronations. A proto-micronation is a micronational entity that is the predecessor of a micronation.
