The Micronational Embassy of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea in the Netherlands (Korean: 주 네덜란드 조선 민주주의 인민 공화국 미 시국 대사관) was the diplomatic mission of North Korea to micronations in the Netherlands. It was located at Nagelerstraat 2, Emmeloord in the province of Flevoland. The embassy of the Free Socialist State of Paloma is still located at the same adress. The only ambassador was Youri Koeman.

History

The embassy was opened on May 1, 2021. The embassy was located in the local Protestant church of which the ambassador is a member. The reason that the embassy was located here is because it is open several times a week in the evening and is freely accessible to everyone. Officially, the counsil of this church had not given permission to establish the embassy here, but because the ambassador has good ties with this counsil, it was expected that this would not be a problem, also because the embassy was located in a space that isn't used much during the week. The Paloman Embassy is stil located in this space.

Duties

The embassy aimed to present North Korea to micronations based in the Netherlands. Dutch micronationalists could come here with questions, comments or diplomatic purposes. Since the embassy was not recognized, it was not possible to apply for visas for North Korea from here. For this, the ambassador refered people to the North Korean embassies outside the Netherlands.
