Loom University is an institution of learning located in the Empire of Ela'r'oech. Established as the first university in the region, Loom University offers students numerous subjects to learn about, as well as degrees to earn.
History
Loom University was founded in 2024 with the vision of providing a comprehensive and advanced educational environment for individuals seeking knowledge across various Elarian disciplines. The university's name, "Loom," comes from the Elarian language word for school.
Subjects
Loom offers six subjects, all specifically tailored for an Elarian audience. All of which students are able to earn degrees for, with specific types of degrees as well. Subjects include Military Leadership, Elarian History, Bayou History, Elarian Economics, and Elarian Law Studies.
Degrees
Loom offers multiple types of degrees, with four main types of degree. An apprentice degree is granted after one year of confirmed working on a particular subject. For example, by studying Elarian Law Studies for one year, a student may become an Apprentice of Elarian Law. After completion of an Apprentice degree, students may apply for a Bachelor's degree if they complete another year of study. For example, by studying Elarian History for two years, a student may become a Bachelor of Elarian History. After completion of a Bachelor's degree, students may apply for a Master's degree if they complete another two years of study and send in an application which will be reviewed by the teacher in the subject. For example, by studying Elarian Economics for four years and having their application accepted, a student may become a Master of Elarian Economics. After five entire years of study, if a student sends in another application, they can attempt to become a Doctor of a given subject. For example, if a student if already a Master of Military Leadership and sends in an application to become a doctor, with five years of study confirmed, they may become a Doctor of Military Leadership.
There are also specialized degrees, though they are significantly less common.
