The Landt Republic, officially known as the General Council of Landt was a self-declared micronation existing mainly within the borders of the United States. Though the Republic claimed no land, it's people would submit their land to be a part of the communal landmass. Currently, the Republic is no longer existent but was in its 4th iteration which was run by an council-based government structure. Though largely simulations. Landt took pride in the fact that it operated as a glimpse at what could be and as a place for anarchists to come together.
Etymology
During the first government of Landt (at the time called the Unified Court Authority) the main leaders of the nation decided to transform the country from a nation ruled by the courts to a nation ruled by the people. For this total upheaval of the government they decided that a renaming was appropriate, one of the founders came up with the name of Landt (Dutch for Nation) and so the Landt Republic was born. Years later after changing government style several times, it has finally settled into an Anarchist Republic. Today the nation is called what the main council is called, the General Council of Landt.
Government Structure
Foreword
Though technically there is no structure to the government of Landt as it worked in a fluid democracy this article will first cover each section of the government starting with the General Council and ending with the abilities and duties of each citizen. All citizens are invited to look through this article and fix any mistakes they see. All government positions, save for that of the Premier, are voted for on the 1st of every second month and then those voted in are seated at the 15th of the next month at 12:00 UTC. The Premiers have their election held on the 5th of every fourth month and are seated on the 15th of the following month at 1:00 UTC.
General Council
The General Council of Landt is the legislative body of Landt. It is made up of the Premiers (secretaries) of each council, which we will go over later. The job of the General Council is to be the mouthpiece of the people. Though any and all citizens can propose and vote for or against legislation, the members of the general council have the full time job of writing, proposing, voting on, and arguing over legislation. The main reason to have full time members of the general council is to ensure that the government is constantly working and to provide an actual structure for the people to interact with the government and to prevent the main grouping of councils from filling the power void that the lack of legislature would bring.
To pass legislation a Conspector (full time legislator) or Citizen proposes legislation and the Premier Major either immediately puts it on the voting docket for the next voting day or denies it's access to the docket. At this point the Conspectors and Citizens can call for an overrule vote (which can only pass with a 60% yea vote). This overrules the Premier Major's decision and forces the proposal onto the docket. The other way that legislation can get onto the voting block is called a Instant Proposal. Instant proposals are items that are proposed and immediately voted on after a debate period. These proposals go into effect immediately after being voted upon if passed.
After legislation is proposed and scheduled for a voting day it goes for a debate period. Debate periods last until an item is voted on and can be extended by the Premier Major or through a 80% yea vote on an extension proposal. Once the voting day arrives for a document, those who wish to vote can vote. Any measures (except for war resolutions) pass with a 60% yea vote.
Defense Council
The Defense Council of Landt is directly responsible for the protection of and organizing the armed forces of Landt. It is comprised of several different branches which are each headed by their own smaller councils not unlike the Joint Chiefs of Staff in the US. It currently executes over one branch, the Peoples Expeditionary Corps.
The Peoples Expeditionary Corps is a militia-like unit comprised of forces with relaxed regulations and training. They operate under Insurgency Doctrine where the main focus is to blend in amongst the populous of the enemy and carry out strategic raids or ambushes from within. Because of this doctrine, some laws of war are broken such as disguising yourself as a civilian. In the eyes of Landt "nothing the major powers don't already do."
History
Though Landt has had many iterations, its history is quite brief. It has for the most part enjoyed peace and overall very little turbulence. At times it has had an active military with training and has taken part in MilSim events as part of that training. After the current stage of reconstruction, there will be a whole page dedicated to this history.
Judicial Authority
In the beginning, Landt was created merely as a way to test out different forms of government to find their flaws and strengths. Now, the original founders use the United Snakes of America for this purpose.
The first government to be created out of this was arguably the most unstable and least thought out. It was run by the high court, the highest court in the land as the name suggests. This first government would serve mainly as a stepping stone into the future governments who would look back on what the Judicial Authority did right as a basis on what to do. This government ended out of a ruling by the high court to turn the nation into a republic, the Landt Republic.
First Republic
The first republic, born out of the ruling of the High Court of the United Judicial Authority, was a nation resembling in many ways the United States. The main differences were that the first republic had ministers instead of secretaries, a council made up of the ministers, and a decentralized military.
The first President elected to be in charge of this new government was President Unix who had previously been a High Court Justice in the United Judicial Authority. During his administration he set up the Landt Judicial System, a system which completely resembled that of the United Judicial Authority with much of the power stripped away, leaving an efficient judicial system [a]
The first law ever passed through legislation in Landt was the Political Restriction Act which prevented Communist, Socialist, Anarchist, Nazi, or Authoritarian parties from being created in Landt. This act was detrimental to the political climate in Landt and created tension and a breakage that would later lead to both the court case Mathers v. State and The Great Uprising.
The Election of 2018
Running for office were President Unix of the Survivalist Party [b] and Lutz Gravy[c] of the Arbalest Party.[d] Though starting off with a poll lead of about 30%, President Unix soon found that he was losing ground to the opposing, Lutz Gravy. Gravy was leading on a platform which opposed the Political Restriction Act and that the Progressive party, which had a supermajority in the government, was abandoning its values (using the aforementioned act as evidence). Fairly quickly, President Unix was able to get his campaign back on tract with his "A look to the Future" campaign which was a series of speeches and attack ads designed to show the voting population what Lutz Gravy was actually arguing for, a "State of Oppression, Chaos, and Terror" for the citizens of Landt. Following this all polls showed President Unix on track to win another election, it seemed that the voting populous did not believe Lutz Gravy's accusations against the Progressive party.
Mathers v. State
Mathers v. State was a court case against a member of the Landt Republic Silver Legion{efn|A group which proudly stated its sympathies for the Nazis and Fascism in general.}} and Arbalest Party. Mathers was rightly accused by the state of being a Neo-Nazi, a fact which he openly admitted. Throughout the trial, the state attempted to make the connection that the Arbalest party was either directly or indirectly promoting the Silver Legion and that most members of the Arbalest party were breaking the Political Restriction Act on the orders of President Unix (who it seems was trying to leverage this case in order to secure his victory in the upcoming election). In the end, the Courts ruled against Mathers and that the Arbalest Party was in fact breaking the Political Restriction Act.
The Great Uprising
The Great Uprising is an event during the election of 2018 which was a direct result of Mathers v. State. Lutz Gravy, running for the arbalest party, used the case as an attacking point for the election and lead to the Great Uprising

The Consequences of the Election of 2018 were detrimental to the politics of Landt.
