The Konlichstag, or the King’s Parliament in English, is the upper house of the Gradonian legislature. The body is made of nineteen members of the upper nobility of Gradonia who are appointed or inherit the position. Currently the sovereign, Dukes, and Marquesses hold seats. The Konlichstag is headed by two Consuls which serve as speakers. Of the two Consuls, one is the Sovereign and the other is a member elected among their peers. The form of address to a member is by their title or as “the Lord Peer first name”, unless the address is directed at the sovereign, who is referred to as “your Honorable Majesty”.
The Konlichstag is currently the only functioning house of the legislature and has therefore produced the most legislation. The lower house, which reviews and ratifies the bills passed by the Konlichstag, is the Council of Electors. Each house is codependent on each other for the ratification of bills.
