Inspired by the Falcon Destruction Unit of the British army during WW2, the Kiwi Destruction Unit (K.D. Unit) were a group of five unknown men from (pre-sovereignty claim) Cordinar. They all believed that the vast majority of kiwi birds were spies trained by anti-monarchists to overthrow the upcoming leader. Armed to the teeth, they killed many kiwis. This led to a gross decrease of the number of these flightless birds, leading to a near extinction. Today, the Grand Duchy of Cordinar honours this loss of life every year during the month of October. This is known as the 'Death of Kiwi Birds Awareness (D.K.B.A) Month.
