The Kingdom of Jan Mayen is a micronation founded on July 28, 2018. It is a Monarchy comprising of the eastern two-thirds of Jan Mayen Island.
History
The Kingdom of Jan Mayen was founded on July 28, 2018, following the approval of purchase from Norway. It was founded by Crossroads Agriculture and HMScorp. REDACTED was crowned King on August 15, 2018, after which major infrastructure projects immediately got underway.
The first official act of government on August 17, 2018, was to declare a demilitarized zone near the border with Norway. Erna Solberg, the Prime Minister of Norway, flew up to Jan Mayen to accept these terms.
On September 15, 2018, construction was halted, due to the impending winter. The winter of 2018/19 was harsh, but the leadership and population remained strong, and construction continued on March 25, 2019. By October 2, 2019, Jan Mayen Airport was completed, with the capital being completed in the immediate area seven days later.
