The Kingdom of Goldentor is a fledgling, safe nation, renowned for its compulsory military service or voluntary and devotion to religion, but within the framework of religious freedom and without illegally evangelizing or preaching. The hard-working, democratic population of 17 million Goldentorians enjoy a sensible mix of personal and economic freedoms, while the political process is open and the people's right to vote held sacrosanct.

The tiny government juggles the competing demands of Welfare, Defense, and Education. The average income tax rate is 7.9%.

The strong Goldentorian economy, worth 298 billion Swiss francs a year, is driven almost entirely by the private sector, which is broadly diversified and led by the Trout Farming industry, with major contributions from Retail, Automobile Manufacturing, and Information Technology. Average income is 59,703 Swiss francs, and evenly distributed, with the richest citizens earning only 4.9 times as much as the poorest.

Origin of the name

Origin of the name of the golden coast. In 1518, the Dutch colonists discovered this land. There are many gold mines on the island. The Dutch colonists named it "Los Goldentor" which means "golden island".

History of Goldentor

The kingdom was established after a province of Goldentor rebelled against Spanish rule in the Spanish colony of Goldentor. The provinces united together to form an alliance against Spain in 1579 and declared independence in 1581.

Although the kingdom was modest in size and had a population of only about 1.5 million, it controlled a worldwide network of trade sea routes.

In 1942 the Kingdom was annexed by Mondstadt and Goldentor became an autonomous province of Mondstadt until 1991 and of victorialand until 2018.

in 2018 Goldentor officially separates from Victorialand and is completely independent

Government and politics

The supreme leader or queen is only a ceremonial position, the full management of the country is transferred to a federal council of 5 people and is elected for a term of 1 year.

The Goldentor Parliament consists of two houses: a cabinet council consisting of 462 members (two in each state and one in each semi-state), who are elected according to a separate system determined by each state, and the Royal Council consists of 550 members elected under a system of proportional representation, according to the population of each state. Members of the two institutes serve for four years and serve only part-time. When both houses meet together, they are called the Federal Assembly. Through a referendum, citizens can challenge any law passed by parliament, and through a petition can introduce amendments to the federal constitution, thus turning Goldentor into a direct democracy

The Federal Council is composed of the federal government, directs the federal government, and serves as the nation's highest body. It is a seven-member convention structure, elected by the Federal Assembly to a four-year mandate term, which also exercises oversight of the Council. The Minister is elected from these seven members by the Federal Assembly, which traditionally rotates and serves a one-year term; The Queen presides over the government and assumes symbolic functions. However, the Queen is an equal head, with no additional powers, and remains the head of an agency within the government.

direct democracy

Direct democracy and federalism are hallmarks of the Goldentor political system. Citizens of Goldentor are subject to three judicial powers: at the municipal, state and federal levels. The 1848/2013 Constitution defines a system of direct democracy (sometimes called semi-direct or representative direct democracy). The instruments of this system at the federal level, known as civil rights, include the right to submit a "federal petition" and a "referendum", both of which can overturn parliament's decision.

By requesting a federal "referendum", a group of citizens can challenge a law passed by parliament if they collect 50,000 signatures against the law within 100 days. If so, a nationwide vote is scheduled for voters to decide by a simple majority whether to approve or reject the law. Any set of eight states may request a constitutional referendum on a federal law.

Similarly, the federal "constitutional petition" allows citizens to put a constitutional amendment to a popular vote, if within 18 months 100,000 voters have signed the proposed amendment. The Federal Assembly and the Federal Assembly can supplement the proposed amendment with a counter-proposal, and voters are then required to indicate which preference they prefer in the event of two proposals being approved. Therefore, constitutional amendments, whether initiated by initiative or in parliament, need to be approved by a dual majority by national popular vote and state popular vote.
