The Colony of Isla Herne was declared independent by the Republic of Taigh a Bata on the 26 December 2010.
Whilst browsing Google Earth, preparing for a trip to La Agüera, Scott Harwood discovered Isla Herne, an unpopulated island in the Dakhla Lagoon in Western Sahara. He then decided to declare it independent and make it part of Taigh a Bata.
Isla Herne was abolished on the 19th of September 2011.
As in Taigh a Bata, Isla Herne was neutral.
