The House of Batternia is a royal family, hailing from the Crown Republic of Flinders. Its founder is King Callum I of Flinders, and its head is Duchess Bree of Batternia. It was formally established on 29 June 2022. Notable members include King Callum I, Crown Princess Mackenzie of Aeonia and Duchess Bree of Batternia.
Etymology
The House of Batternia traces its name to the town of Battenberg in Germany. The Battenberg family of that area, ancestors of the British royal family's Mountbatten line, is also an ancestral family for the House of Batternia. It is common practice amongst members of Batternia to list their surname as Batten at some times.
History
The House of Batternia was formally founded on 29 June 2022. There had, however, been a loose family tie prior to this. Eleven days before its founding, former head of Batternia, Callum I of Flinders, took the throne of Flinders. On 2 July 2022, Duchess Bree of Batternia became the new head of the House, succeeding Callum.
Structure
The House of Batternia is managed by a head, the most senior female in the House. As of 2 July 2022, that is Duchess Bree. The head of Batternia is always given the title 'of Batternia'. Their firstborn child is then the Administrator of the Crown Territory of Batternia in the Crown Republic of Flinders. The current administrator is Callum I of Flinders.
