The Herbatrean Federation, commonly known as Herbatrea, is an European enclaved micronation surrounded by the United Kingdom, mainly situated on the island of Great Britain. Its size is just over 5.35 km2 and has an estimated population of about 71. Herbatrea is one of the least populated countries in the world. Its capital is Mæshowe, an important global micronational city and financial centre, and its largest city and main cultural and commercial center is Herbazona. Herbatrea is a Federal semi-presidential constitutional republic consisting of 6 Provinces and 2 Territories, the Constitution of Herbatrea establishes the state as secular and democratic, with its sovereignty derived from the people.

The establishment of the modern day Herbatrean Federation was the 5th November 2014 which is celebrated annually as Herbatrean National Day. Although the founding of the Herbatrean Nation is generally dated to the 22nd June 2005, when the first Herbatrean state “the Royal Herbatrean Unions” independence from the United Kingdom was declared by then King Stephen Walsh.

Herbatrean citizens enjoy a high standard of living, and the country performs well in international rankings of education, health care, life expectancy, civil liberties, and human development. it is widely considered a micronational military and economic power, and a prominent political and cultural force in the micronational world. Herbatrea is a founding member of the Alliance of Independent Micronations (A.I.M.) and the Union Against Discrimination (U.A.D.). It is also a member of the Organisation of Active Micronations (O.A.M.), the Union of European Micronations (U.E.M.) and the Grand Micronational Union (G.M.U.). The Herbatrean constitution binds the country to a policy of neutrality through non-alignment and the country is consequently not a member of several micronational defence unions, rather it serves as an official observer state to many. Although it does participate in the Micronational Partnership for Peace.
