The Grand Republic of Chaddistan is a semi ironic Presidential Dictatorship located on the border between DuPage and Cook County, Illinois. Founded in a upper class Chicago suburb, Chads enjoy a high quality of life, but relatively low levels of freedom. Alexander Kempenaar took control of Chaddistan shortly after its founding, and changed his name to Chaddicus Maximus Alexandros Larpian Kempenaar. Chairperson Kempenaar stated he added the "Larpian" to their name to prevent people from thinking the micronation was yet another Rome wannabe. Kempenaar appointed their second in command during their coup as Executive, the second most powerful position in the Chaddicus government. For the sake of privacy, they chose a new name to go by in public, Octavian Larpises Ptolemy. Shortly after taking power, a snap election was held in which Kempenaar/Ptolemy won 100% of the vote, but the fairness of the election is in question.

Despite the little freedom much Chads have, Chaddicus is a very progressive nation in terms of the LGBTQIA+ community, with Kempenaar themselves using they/them pronouns and being pansexual. While Kempenaar truly believes what they say in regards to the LGBTQIA+ community, Kempenaar also believes it is a good way to recruit citizens, with Chaddistan being a safe space for those experiencing hate for their identities.

At last count, Chaddistan had 35 citizens, making it one of the more larger micronations in the Chicagoland area. A majority of the population identifies as Protestant Catholic, with sizable Sunni, Atheist, Agnostic (Including Kempenaar themselves), and Roman Catholic populations. Chaddistan's official currency is the Grand Note, which displays Kempenaar, WW2 Soldier Witold Pilecki, 6th President John Quincy Adams, and abolitionist Frederick Douglass on its 1, 5, 20, and 50 Notes respectively. Kempenaar declared most of the things Chaddistan says should not be taken that seriously unless it is explicitly said.

Etymology

The name of Chaddistan originates from the internet meme of the "Gigachad". The name was chosen because Kempenaar felt like it was a proper description of themselves, and because calling all citizens "Chads" would inspire a sense of loyalty in citizens, at least according to Kempenaar.

Culture

Chairperson Kempenaar believes a united culture and identity is key to nation building, and thus, has been working hard on a united identity many can get behind.

National Symbols

The national animal of Chaddistan is the Ox. Kempenaar respects a hard worker, and the beast of burden Ox is a "perfect representation of what that means," according to Kempenaar. The Ox also represents a bulky, tough animal. "Oxes are like the animal versions of Gigachads, and that's where our name originates," Kempenaar continued.

The Flag of Chaddistan is a tri color, with gold on the left, white in the middle, and silver on the right. The coat of arms of the nation and the Kempenaar family is in the middle. The gold represents the "shining beacon of hope that our nation is", the white represents hope for the future, and silver represents the saying "every cloud has a silver lining", with the silver representing a rain cloud and the silver lining.

Chaddistan has a tradition of, often posthumously, knighting figures that the Government considers "chads". Often these people appear on the currency of Chaddistan, the Grand Note. The Note features a face of a "chad" in the lower left corner, the number representing its worth in the upper right corner, and the coat of arms in the middle. Color varies depending on the note.

Sports

Kempenaar is not a huge fan of sports, but understands their importance for a united culture. A team the entire nation, or at least part of the nation, can cheer on. Kempenaar created the very first sports team in the nation on September 29, 2022, the Kempenaar Kecleons located in the ceremonial capital of Kempenaar. It is a professional Pokemon battling team, with their only member being Kempenaar themselves. The team name originates from the Pokemon of the same name. Chads are permitted to join other teams with no correlation to Chaddistan, but competitive Pokemon is the only Government recognized sport.
