The Government of Québec is the governing body of the Kingdom of Québec.

It is responsible for the general administration of the state. It is composed of 8 members.

Composition

The Minister of State and the Government Councillors are appointed by the King of Québec and are responsible to her and the president is elected by the people. The President presides, with a deciding vote, the council. The functions of the President and Government Councillor are mutually exclusive with that of member of the National Assembly. Government Councillors are officially styled as "Government Councillor-Minister" but is often styled as the shortened "Councillor-Minister".

Powers of the Government Council

The Government Council is mandated, according to the Constitution, to discuss the bills proposed by the King before their presentation to the National Assembly, the Royal Decrees to be approved by the King and the Presidential Decrees proposed by the President. They can also discuss other policies at the pleasure of the King.
