The flag of Permaria is the national flag of the Kingdom of Permaria. It consists of three vertical bands; one white, one green, and one blue. In use since 2020 and officially enshrined into the nation's constitution in 2024, it has been the flag of the kingdom since that year.

History

The current flag of Permaria was designed by Canadian micronationalist Dustin Salisbury in 2019 and was originally employed for private use. Upon the foundation of the Principality of Permaria in 2020, a yellow, red, and white tricolour was adopted as the country's flag and remained in use until 2024 when a referendum was held to determine if Permaria should adopt new national colours.

The referendum resulted in a majority decision to change the colours and Salisbury, then reigning as Prince Dustin I, proposed a triband of white, green, and blue that would carry both cultural and regional significance for his principality and its citizens. This new design was formally approved and granted official status as Permaria's new national flag on 29 January 2024. Upon the elevation of Permaria to a kingdom on 8 March 2024, the new design was formally codified in the new Permarian constitution.

Symbolism

The green center stripe symbolizes the eastern coast of Vancouver Island, where Permaria is situated, between the Vancouver Island Ranges to the west and the Salish Sea to the east, symbolized by white and blue respectively. These three colours are also described by Permaria's constitution as symbolizing purity, abundance, and faithfulness.
