The First Ant-Hamster War was a military conflict fought between the Kingdom of Antland and the State of Hamsterland between the 23rd of March 2023 and the 2nd of May. It began when Chief Hamster Bamse signed the Declaration of War proposed by Deputy Chief Hamster Dolly after Ants were caught stealing food from Hamsterland.

Background

The Kingdom of Antland was founded on the 20th of March 2023 when a Ant colony was founded inside Hamsterland. The news of the colonies existence reached the Congress of Hamsterland just 1 day later. Deputy Chief Hamster Dolly then called a emergency meeting of Government to decide what to do. After the meeting the Government sent the Secretary of Foreign Affairs to meet with the Queen of the Ants, Amalia I. Their meeting resulted in absolutely nothing. On the 22nd of March 5 ants from Antland were caught stealing food from Hamsterland by the Secretary of Security and once these news reached Congress the first calls for Hamsterland to declare war started to be heard. Since Hamsterland had never went to war no one was sure how a Declaration of War would be made official. The Judge therefore was forced to quickly come up with a temporary system that would still make sure the final decision was made by the Chief Hamster. On the 23rd this new system was presented to the Deputy Chief Hamster who approved it on the Chief Hamsters behalf. The system made it so Declarations of War worked just like any other bill going through Congress and therefore needed the Chief Hamsters signature and approval by both houses. It only took the bill 4 hours to be approved by both houses and was then presented to Bamse. He signed it shortly thereafter sparking the first war in the nations history. As Commander-in-Chief Bamse was after signing hte bill forced to join the military to lead the war effort.

War

After the war broke out the Secretary of Security declared the first floor of Timothys house as an exclusion zone while the army prepared to launch a assult against the Ant Stronghold inside the Pantry. The First batlle however did not take place there as planned. Instead the first battle took place in the Living room on March 25 when the Ant Royal Army launched a suprise attack against Hamsterlands military during the First Battle of Soffan (Soffan is Swedish for "The Sofa"). During the Battle Hamsterlands army was defeated and forced to cancel the attack on the Pantry. The next engagement took place in the 31st of March when the Ants attacked the stairs leading up to the Deputy Chief Hamsters Residence at Government House. The following battle ended with the Ants securing victory as Hamsterlands troops were forced to retreat after news reached them about what was thought to be an Ant attempt to abduct Deputy Chief Hamster Dolly.
