The Excelsioran-Libertasian Mark, more commonly known as the EL Mark and symbolized as £M, is the official currency of the Excelsior Republic and the Federal People's Republic of Libertas, and is accepted as legal tender in the Kingdom of Bryantia, as well as Federal Republic of Georgienstine, and The Duck Island Federation. The EL Mark was conceived by Home Secretary of Excelsior Micah W., as well as Chancellor Nicolas Caiazzo, President Silas Wurnbash, and Premier of Libertas Emerson Lee. The currency is jointly controlled by the respective governments of Government of Excelsior and Libertas through the Excelsioran-Libertasian Cooperative Bank, or ELCB, and the Excelsioran-Libertasian Council on the Mark, or ELCM.
Banknotes
The EL Mark is traded digitally, however commemorative banknotes have been issued by the EL Cooperative Bank, in denominations of one Mark, ten Marks, one hundred Marks, one thousand Marks, and ten thousand Marks. The notes are all one-sided. The current Series A notes were all designed by Nicolas Caiazzo.
Each banknote features an Excelsioran or Libertasian public figure, as well as the flags of Libertas and Excelsior. The four languages on the Mark, English, Portuguese, German, and Korean, are official languages in Excelsior and Libertas. Each not also features the icon of the EL Cooperative Bank, and small security details such as Guilloche lines.
Coins
In conjuncture with the series A banknotes, the EL Cooperative Bank also released a single coin, the quarter-mark, featuring Premier-General and Secretary of the Treasury of Excelsior Chet Chetson.
