The Election Commission of New Melanesia is a regulatory body of elections in the Republic of New Melanesia. It is an independent agency that regulates party and election finance and sets standards for how elections should be run as well as regulating the elections themselves.
History
The election commission was established on 21 July 2022 under Luke of Wellmoore's directive to help keep elections fair and free in New Melanesia.
Responsibilities
Registration of Political Parties
The Commission is responsible for the registration and legalisation of political parties within New Melanesia. All citizens wanting to register a party must register with the electoral commission.
Integrity of Elections
The Commission's role is to ensure the integrity and transparency of all elections within the nation and to prevent things such as voter fraud or fraudulent results.
The commission is also responsible for maintaining the integrity and transparency for party funding and spending during campaigning in election periods and is responsible for creating reports about how much funding a party receives in each election cycle, if any money is received.

Executive Team
The executive team oversees the commission's operations. It consists of a number of appointed members. All members of the executive team must not be a member of any political party and are forbidden from discussing their own political views during elections to help keep the election fair and free. Members are permitted to vote, as long as it does not tamper with the election's results.
