The Elasian Supreme Court is the supreme court in Helasia on administrative law, civil law and criminal law cases.
The Court is one of the 3 courts in Helasia.
Creation of the Court
The Elasian Supreme Court was created in 1 March 2019, in accordance with the Political Decision of the 2nd Congress of Unitary Alternative/ Elasian Communist Workers' Party.
The 2019 inactivity crisis
In 2019 a lot of cases (19 according to some) were not solved by the court, and a trial date was never set. Amongst these was the famous "Trial of Treason". The crisis resulted in the resignation of the administrator of Justice in 20 December 2019 and the forced resignation of Hölljej Gkherov in 27 January 2020, after a decision of the 3rd Congress of the Helasian Communist Workers' Party - Antigreen Socialist Front. In accordance with the decision the former premier, Stefan Dor, became the second Supreme Judge of Popular Affairs in the history of Helasia. Also, the term of the judge changed from 8 years to 8 months.
Composition
The court is composed by 4 members (3 tactical members of the Politburo of the Elasian Communist Workers' Party and 1 random citizen/ case). The Supreme Judge is proposed by the Central Committee of the Party, and gets elected by the Politburo.
