Background
The micronation Rosemary People's Republic, which identifies itself as trans-communist and pro-Russian. The Sovereign Military Order of Winter, more commonly known as Vinterorden or sometimes The Order, is a pagan military order, particularly known for its support for Ukraine and its anti-communist actions. The Order, which considers that the RPR financially supported Russian-backed separatists in Donbas through their events "Action Comrades" and "Bakhmut Pride Month" decided to strike. According to a source close to Vinterorden, Operation Rainbow Nights was prepared several days in advance to be as effective as possible on the day.
War
Operation Rainbow Nights
On 12 January 2024, the Vinterorden launched a series of coordinated raids on multiple Discord and Telegram channels belonging to the Rosemary People's Republic, Invading Grand Soir, the capital of the RPR, thus taking by surprise the nation which was not expecting an attack.
Shortly after the start of the main invasion on Grand Soir, Co-Supreme Leader Xeria ordered the Kinky Boys Police (KBP) forces to fight and expel the enemy from the private networks of the RPR. However, the accounts of the KBP agents, which had been hacked beforehand, were immediately deactivated. After the Rosemarian police force was neutralized, the citizens were forced to respond to a survey, to determine the RPR's actual stance on various events between micronations but also on a larger scale like the war in Ukraine, the anti-Putin resistance in the Russian enclave of Kaliningrad and ensuring that the micronation was populated only by adults. Initially, Co-Supreme Leader Xeria and a majority of citizens refused, but they were eventually compelled to fill out the form after Co-Supreme Leader Romar, under duress, urged his fellow citizens to comply with the Vinterorden forces.
During the night of 12-13 January, after waiting until all citizens had responded to the survey and after evaluating the results, the Vinterorden forces unilaterally declared the dissolution of the Rosemary People's Republic. Co-Supreme Leader Romar declared that he had no choice but to obey, as he was facing external pressures, and he carried out the dissolution ordered by enemy forces.
Early in the morning of 13 January 2024, the Rosemary People's Republic officially ceased to exist.
Aftermath
The day after the dissolution, some Rosemarian citizens found themselves on the Anti-Fachonations Discord server at the initiative of Astris Twinky, to organize a resistance. Few hours later, the Discord server and the Reddit accounts of several of them were deleted by the Vinterorden.
In the following weeks, several citizens recounted their testimony of the event on Telegram and r/micronations, using fake accounts for fear of being hacked again. On 13 February 2024, Mór Egmont Szécsényi, leader of the Federal Republic of Alftotska, declared on Reddit that the Vinterorden had also attacked him and blackmailed him for an ideological disagreement several years earlier, without providing any evidence. According to members of the neutral Franconations community, this claim by Alftotska is highly likely to be false, as the casus belli invoked is very unlikely. Ten days later, the Reddit accounts of several former Rosemarian citizens were deleted again, but it is unclear if it was another Vinterorden's attack or an action by Reddit moderators.
