Ömmelonia, officially Unabhängige Republik Ömmelonien (english: Independent Republic of Ömmelonia) is a micronation in Magdeburg, Saxony-Anhalt, Germany.
History
Idea
The formation of Ömmelonia was planned since 18 August 2024, in a house in Northern Magdeburg in Germany. On 19 August 2024, the house of a family member in central Magdeburg.
Official proclamation
The independent republic of Ömmelonia officially declared its independence on 4th September 2024 via a reddit post.
Economy
Currency
There is no official currency in Ömmelonia. It was dicussed to establish the so-called Ömmelkrone, but the idea was rejected because there is simply no use for a micronational currency. Citizens use the euro to buy things.

Ömmelonia is a liberal democracy. Someone under the pseudonym Phil Carrier, founder of Ömmelonia, declared himself interim president until the first elcetions is done.

National Symbols
Flags
Civil flag
The civil flag is used as the civil and state flag and also as the civil ensign of Ömmelonia. It is the most commonly used in Ömmelonia. The Flag looks like the coat of arms: blue background with a green stripe from the upper left to the lower right corner, making up three parts of this flag, each one having a star.
Federal flag
Only the ministries and authorities of Ömmelonia my use the federal flag (German "Dienstflagge der Ömmelonischen Behörden"). The only difference to the national flag is the coat of arms replacing the middle star.
Military flag
The military flag of Ömmelonia is used by the Ömmelonian army. It has the color scheme of the civil flag, but a different arrangement of the parts. The military flag has a cutout on the fly.
Coat of arms
The coat of arms of Ömmelonia (German: Wappen Ömmeloniens or Ömmelonisches Wappen) is "Azure, a bend vert, three mullets argent in bend sinister." Behind the coat of arms is a coat and a crown with green accents.
Political parties
PÖFF
PÖFF, short for Partei Ömmeloniens für Frieden und Freiheit (English: Ömmelonian Party for Peace and Freedom), is the first political Party to be founded in Ömmelonia. Its election manifesto states they want more direct democracy, one free sausage per week for every citizen, and joining various intermicronational allicances. In statistics, the PÖFF is colored blue.
SPÖ
The socialist party of Ömmelonia (German: Sozialistische Partei Ömmeloniens, short: SPÖ) wants a socialist state with a mostly central managed economy and the fair distribution of wealth, for example through higher taxes for rich people. The partie's color is red.
DOOF

DOOF is an acronym for Demokratische Ömmelonische OppositionsPartei, which translates to Democratic Ömmelonian Opposicion Party. It was made as a joke party, like the German PARTEI (which explains the short form "DOOF", German for "Stupid"). They also are for the one-free-sausage-per-week-and-citizen-rule by the PÖFF, but state that it should be at least two sausages because one "can't only eat one sausage at a time." The DOOF party identiefies itself with yellow color.
Official Documents
All of the official documents are made as an example for "Ömmel Mustermann" who is the Ömmelonian equivalent for the German Max Mustermann or English John Doe.
ID card
The official ID card of the Independent Republic of Ömmelonia is blue with a green stripe and has text on both sides (here shown as one image, the black line seperates the front at the top and the back at the bottom of the image). The front has an image of the owner and shows their last name, the first name, their date of birth, where they were born and where they live now (in this order). It alsow states until when the identity card is valid. Behind this data is a holographic image of the person. The code-like text seen inside the green stripe shows the number of the ID card and repeats this data in a shortened form. The Backside shows information of the owner's eye color and height, the doctorate and the religious or stage name, if there, and the date on which the ID card was given out. Behind that there is again a holographic image of the person. The three stars on the green stripe show three dates: date of birth, date of issue and the end of the validity. The bottom line of the cardd again shows the code seen on the front. The ID card is not valid without the stamp of the "Ministerium für amtliche Dokumente" (english: the ministry for official documents)
Culture
National cuisine
Tha national dish of th independent republic of Ömmelonia is called "Igelwürstchen"(english "hedgehog sausage"). Wiener sausages are cut like an X on both ends and than put in a pan. Igelwürstchen are typically served with mashed potatoes.
