Etymology

Mattonia was named after the Mattingly house

History

April 19 2024- The flag of Mattonia was officially raised signaling to the world that Mattonia is coming to reality.

April 21 2024- The very first ever berry harvest is being prepared in the Kingdom of Mattonia.

April 22 2024- Mattonia celebrates its first earth day with its citizens enjoying the refreshing spring day by spending it appreciating the beauty of nature.

April 24 2024- The constitution was ratified making the Kingdom of Mattonia officially independent despite having made progress beforehand as well as establishing offical diplomatic relation with the Democratic republic of Asbest.

May 13 2024- A severe thunderstorm rocks the Kingdom as a small tornado passed through the area though there was damage to trees and some power lines the damage was minimal and the nation begins its clean up effort to ensure that Mattonia remains a beautiful land.

Politics and government

Mattonia is home to a very centrist type of government with high social and economic rights low government intervention and strict environment laws designed to preserve the beauty of the environment for many generations to come

Foreign relations

On the day of Mattonias founding a friendship treaty was created with the Democratic republic of Asbest and was shipped off to Volograd to be signed by our Asbestian counterparts. Mattonia remains open to diplomatic relations with nations who look to uphold a realist type nation and look to take micronationalism seriously and does not associate with any form of roleplay activities or entity's.

Military

Mattonia is a nation which upholds peace to the highest priority for this reason the Kingdom of Mattonia has no official offensive armed forces and looks to maintain open diplomacy with minimal conflicts

Geography and climate

The main territory of Mattonia consists of a vast ecosystem with dense pine forests and wetlands creating a home for many local wildlife while the territory in Colorado consists of a wide mountain range and thick pine forests home to many forms of Mattonias wildlife

Economy

Mattonia is home to a large pine tree plantation where the trees are harvested and sold to the united states to be used to make telephone poles this makes up a large portion of the economy but more methods will be looked into in the future

Culture and media

The media of Mattonia can be found primarily on the social media platform Instagram but more methods for communication and media is under construction

The culture of Mattonia is largely influenced by the southern culture of the United states with many delicious southern dishes, music, and more!
