The Republic of Christaland is a fledgling, safe nation, remarkable for its barren, inhospitable landscape and frequent executions. The country (Christaland) has a huge area of 1.61 million km². The hard-working, democratic, devout population of 1 million Christalandians enjoy a sensible mix of personal and economic freedoms, while the political process is open and the people's right to vote held sacrosanct.
The relatively small, outspoken government juggles the competing demands of Welfare, Spirituality, and Healthcare. The average income tax rate is 15.1%.
The strong Christalandian economy, worth 292 million Yeezels ($292 billion) a year, is broadly diversified and led by the Woodchip Exports industry, with major contributions from Automobile Manufacturing, Basket Weaving, and Furniture Restoration. Average income is 58,491 Yeezels ($58 million), with the richest citizens earning 5.1 times as much as the poorest.
The automotive industry soaks up huge government handouts, organ donation is compulsory, the government's religious works are headed by a New Age guru, and the death penalty has been reintroduced. Crime is well under control. Christaland's national animal is the Lion, which teeters on the brink of extinction due to widespread deforestation.
