Chalybia, officially - the State of Chalybia (Georgian: ხალიბთა სახელმწიფო) a self-proclaimed micronation located in the South Caucasus region, declared on November 26, 2022, in the aftermath of the National Revolution within the Caucasian People's Republic.
Formally, Chalybia is an authoritarian dictatorship. The ruling party is the National-Labourist Party, which plays a central role in shaping and implementing policies.
Etymology
The term "Chalybia" comes from ancient Scythian and Persian influences, paying homage to the historical legacy of the South Caucasus. The prefix "Chal-" may find its roots in ancient Scythian languages, hinting at the cultural connections between the micronation and the nomadic tribes that once roamed the region. Additionally, the suffix "-ybia" reflects the enduring Persian linguistic influence, underscoring the rich tapestry of historical interactions in the South Caucasus.
History
First Chalybian Republic. April Revolution
The origins of Chalybia can be traced back to the establishment of the first republic on January 26. Chalybian Republic was located on territory, which was bordering Georgia and the Federal Republic of Caucasus (FRC), a state led by the Liberal Party and with its capital in Vladikavkaz.
In March 2020, elections were held in the FRC, in which the ruling party received an absolute majority. This caused huge discontent among the population, but no one wanted to protest because of the fear of repression from the government. But discontent was expressed only by activists of the Caucasian Socialist United Party, who demanded new elections, freedom and a ban on the Liberal Party.
Soon, peaceful protests turned into clashes between the Special Forces and the socialists. At the end of March, CSUP secretly created the Caucasian People's Army. On April 5, the CPA units and political activists through force entered Vladikavkaz and declared "the start of Great Socialist Revolution", while the government escaped from the city. A civil war began and lasted until October, with the win of socialist forces. The First Republic of Chalybia was occupied by the Caucasus People's Republic on September 5, after starting a war in Georgia.
The victory of the socialist forces heralded a new era in Chalybia's history, marked by the establishment of a totalitarian state, the dictatorship of Franciszek Hawrylak and the birth of the Caucasian People's Republic.
Regime of Franciszek
During Franciszek's tenure and the rule of the Caucasian Socialist United Party, Chalybia witnessed an era of authoritarian governance marked by widespread repression and human rights abuses. Under the pretext of maintaining order and stability, Franciszek's regime enforced draconian measures to quell dissent and consolidate power.
Under his rule, the regime targeted ethnic minorities, particularly non-Caucasian populations, through forced deportations and discriminatory policies. Dissidents faced violent crackdowns, resulting in numerous casualties and instilling widespread fear among the populace.
The Caucasian Socialist United Party, as the ruling party under Franciszek's leadership, exercised strict control over all facets of society, suppressing political opposition and dissenting voices. The party's influence extended to media censorship, curtailing freedom of expression and disseminating propaganda to glorify the regime and silence dissent.
The reign of Franciszek and the Caucasian Socialist United Party left a dark legacy of repression, fear, and human rights violations. The regime's ruthless tactics and disregard for basic freedoms cast a shadow over Chalybia, leaving a lasting impact on its society and history.
National Revolution. The Fall of the regime
The year 2022 marked an important moment in the history of Chalybia as the nation witnessed the dramatic collapse of the authoritarian regime under Franciszek. Dubbed the National Revolution, this series of events unfolded with breathtaking speed, reshaping the political landscape of the Caucasus region.
On August 11, 2022, within the territory of the Caucasian People's Republic, Tugluk Bakhtiyar, the People's Commissioner for Uyghur Affairs, proclaimed the establishment of the Asian State, led by the Phalanx Party. Franciszek voluntarily stepped down from power and publicly declared leaving politics.
On October 19, Special Forces of the Asian State conducted a targeted operation under the order of Tugluk Bakhtiyar, leading to the arrest of both Franciszek Hawrylak. That same evening, Franciszek was swiftly convicted and imprisoned.
On October 21, the Central Kurultai declared the establishment of the Tegreg-Uyghur State, signaling a totalitarian regime's ascent. On this very day, Franciszek, along with his comrades, escaped from prison and fled to Italy, where they declared the Government of the Asian State in exile.
On October 23, Imperial Minister of Military Affairs Wei Fenghe and Colonel of the 5th Army Ismail Bakhtiyar (brother of Tugluk) orchestrated a coup with the support of the Civil Defense Forces, the militarized wing of the National-Labourist Party, toppling the Tegreg-Uyghur State. In the aftermath, Franciszek returned from exile, and with his order, Tugluk was repressed.
On November 5 Franciszek ascended to power once more, becoming the second President of the Asian State. However, his grip on power proved short-lived.
On November 22, the National-Labourist Party, under the leadership of Romul Kortiati, staged a coup in Kazuinansilede, the capital of the Asian State. Three days later, on November 25, with the backing of the Civil Defense Forces, the National-Labourist Party orchestrated a march on the government and ousted Franciszek from power. He was sent to Italy, and the rest of the government was imprisoned.

November 26 marked a new chapter in Chalybia's history as the Second Congress of the National-Labourist Party decided to create an independent Chalybian state. On the same date, with the name of the Supreme Assembly, the State of Chalybia was proclaimed.
Government and Politics
The government of Chalybia operates within the framework of a unitary state, limiting hierarchy and largely relying on self-nomination.
Constitution
Chalybia doesn't have a constitution but has "The Book of Public Laws" as an alternative to a constitution. This book contains laws, directives and other documents of a constitutional nature relating to the political system and citizens.
Political Structure
Supreme Assembly
The Supreme Assembly is the legislative and executive body of the state, and the head occupies a leading position in the state. The Supreme Assembly includes: The Council of Ministers as the executive government; The House of National Delegates as the legislative government.
Judicial System
Chalybia's judicial system is either disobedient or partially subservient to the party, depending on the need identified by the Supreme Court.
Elections and Political Participation
Elections in Chalybia are held between the Independent Party and the National-Labourist Party, providing some competition and diversity in the political landscape. According to the Law "On National Elections of the Government", the resignation of members of the ruling party from all government positions before elections is a mandatory step to promote change and renewal in the government.
Foreign relations
Chalybia recognises all member states of the United Nations and some non-member states. Also, Chalybia de facto recognises most micronations. However, Chalybia doesn't have a formal or informal type of relationship with any of them.
