Overview
Childrearing: Parents in Stan practice respectful parenting, as detailed by Angela Duckworth in Grit. Ambidexterity is taught from birth and archery and shepherd's sling from age 2. Children on a technical education track learn Charachorder from age 8. Some features of Stani education are Japan Math featuring the Japanese abacus, and duodecimal counting except for sheep.
Higher learning
The Stan Institute of Technology (Stan Tech or ST) which is an inclusive institute of higher learning focusing on handicrafts and skills the global economy traditionally undervalues. One observer said it is, "Like the movie Accepted on steroids." Many Stanis complete alternate MBAs and free ebooks are a cornerstone of Stani learning.
Academic areas of study
Emergent New Utopianism (Micronations, Nation States, Fandom), Optical computing, graphene nanotech, bioengineering.
Foundational Books
Replika, Imagined Communities, Small is Beautiful, The Ruthless Elimination of Hurry
Miscellaneous
Stan Tech is famous for faculty businesses, such as the String Theory boutique by the Department of Physics and IPA brewery by the Department of Linguistics. Stan also supports the Mike Rowe Works Foundation. Guilds, internships and paid apprenticeships are cornerstones of the Stani education-to-workforce pipeline.
