The Calewan State of the Sammich Republic, more commonly known as CS Sammich or Sammich, is a micronation in Europe. It has an owned territory in Nottingham, United Kingdom and claimed territory in Peer, Belgium. It was formed in early February of 2023 in Nottingham, Similar to Wyndela, which the emperor of Sammich and Princeps I of Wyndela knew each other. It was the founder state of the first Calewan Union.
Sammich is a sammichist nation, as well as being in the Calewan union. The emperor has power over small decisions whereas the larger decisions are made by the CDG (Counselu de Governayi) a group of people who vote on decisions. The Calewan council can also intervene in sammich decisions by 50%.
Sammich is part of the Calewan union, so they have positive relations with Wyndela and Dova. They participate in trade, as well as supporting via military and foreign aid. Sammich recognises all UN member and observer states, as well Calewan union members, Sealand and molossia, and does not recognise North Korea.
Etymology
The name 'Sammich' originates from two words in Calewan. The word meaning home in Calewan is written Sām in the latin alphabet, but is still pronounced the same in Calewan. The word Mich (again, latinised) means Land in Calewan. Therefore, Homeland is Sāmmich, but the macron (line) has lost use over time. Though, Sammich in Calewan is Sammichi, due to Calewan grammar.
History
Sammich was founded in early February 2023. It still used the Language Calewan, though then it was known as Sammich as well as the Valora being just known as the Sammich valora (SRV) It only had one territory, in Nottingham. not much happened until April, when Dova was founded. Back then it was know as donky. They became the first two countries to adopt the pibble religion after the horrible death of Jeremy da pigeon. They became close allies and began trade. In late august, Center Parcs Erperheide was claimed as part of sammich. It is now the largest part of Sammich and currently the biggest city. It doesn't have a permanent population, so it was easy to claim. In mid-september, Wyndela went through the Thorn Revolution, and the dictatorship was replaced with feudalism and Wyndela applied to join the Calewan Union, and ended up joining peacefully. Since this happened recently, it is hard to state the current relation ship between Sammich and Wyndela. The emperor states it is going well so far. Very recently, 25th of September, the pibble left Sammich and Dova. Currently, the CU are not affiliated with the pibble due to fact they lied about things in the past, and now Sammich's national religion is thingymasons.
Politics and government
Sammich is the founder of the Calewan Union, so it abides to all Calewan laws and rules. Most decisions are made simply by the emperor, like opening a new building, or fining someone for a low level crime. Larger decisions are made by the Counselu de Governayi (CDG) a group of samm politicians who vote. Each member represents a different role in sammich, like military commanders or teaching representatives. If the Calewan Union decides to, they have their own vote and intervene in the CDG by 50%. Sammich does not have political parties, so that sammich is more united.
Early government
Originally, Sammich was only lead by the emperor. A lot of the current calewan rules, though, were already in sammich before the union existed. These rules where turned into the rules of the calewan union, and the CDG was put into place to make the country more fair.
Law and order
Sammich abides to all calewan union laws, as well as some of its own. This includes:
- You can be punished from the age of eight, with similar punishments to adults
- Discrimination against anyone is illegal and can be punished by a prison sentence.
- repeated offences result in worse punishments each time.
- There is a death penalty in Sammich but only lethal injection is allowed.
- Horrible Crimes are punished by labor for up to 3 years, until death penalty (only absolutely horrible crimes)
- Only electric cars are permitted in Timtown and Erperheide.
- Vandalising money (E.G. Ripping) is punishable by Community Service Camp
- insulting Doug I of Wyndela is punishable by death
Military
Sammich wants to remain a fairly neutral state, as it is on the border between capitalism and communism. It has good relations with dova in terms of military
Calewan Union
Sammich is the founder state of the original Calewan Union, also known as the CU, a group of Micronations that gained independence from the UK. Currently, there are 4 members in this Union, Sammich Republic, Wyndela, Dova, and the Grand empire of Valmont. They participate in trade, and have common laws and political rules, excluding Wyndela, who do have a slightly different system.
