The Republic of Evoria or simply Evoria is a micronation[1] founded on April 2nd, 2024. It is located in Clifton although full residency is not required to become a citizen. The nation models its government to a modified version of the Roman Republic.
Evoria was founded on April 2nd, 2024, but can trace it's orgins to the year 2021, when Consul Ryan Cohen and Karl Krajewski created a colony for a class project. Which was an on and off unknown micronation, but finially settled into forming and reinventing itself as Evoria.
History
Evoria was officialy founded in the year 2024, however, always had a sense of existence and soverignty since 2021, when a "Create a Colony" class project got very detailed. The colony was called "Dortexas" and went through many name changes, such as "Pedestria","Boominia", and many more. An entire Dungeons & Dragons campaign was based off of this universe. Sometime in September 2023, the people behind Dortexas discovered micronationalism, a topic that deeply fascinated them. Which led up to the events of April 2nd, 2024, when Evoria declared itself a soverign nation.
On April 2nd, 2024, Evoria was founded as a Constitutional Republic with a president, however, after Ryan Cohen did not want total power over the nation anymore, and learning about how the Roman Republic had two leaders, known as Consuls, he preferred that style of government, allowing Karl Krajewski, to become Consul on April 30th. This decision also allowed the Senate to remain intact. the During this change, Evoria gave up its territory in Chelsea Park and other Clifton Landmarks, in favor of only claiming territory in the Mount Prospect Park region, now known as Ryangrad. This serires of reforms and many other changes are known as the April 30th Acts.
Land
Evoria has territory in Mount Prospect Park in Clifton. It consists of two major cities, Pinecrest, and Ryangrad. Evoria used to claim a lot more land but dialed back their claims to a managble ammount that would be easier to travel. This also allowed to make clear bordere between Evoria and the land of the United States.
Pinecrest
Pinecrest is the Capital City of Evoria. It's terrain is a large grassland because of this, it is home to a lot of wildlife, which include a feral cat and a coyote. As of now no evacuations of the city have taken place, but coyote spottings have happened in isolated circumstances near the Capitol building. The name, "Pinecrest", comes from the vast ammount of Pinetrees in the city.
The Capitol Building is the main landmark in Pinecrest. As of late April 2024 it is still under construction but can be used for legislative purposes. The Capitol building cannot be seen from inside of Pinecrest, which gives it a classified entrance that only registered citizens can be given.
Ryangrad
Ryangrad is the largest city in Evoria. It was the first land claimed by Evoria and is homme to four baseball fields, a basketball court, a playground, and national park. It is named after Consul Ryan Cohen for discovering the land. Ryangrad is typically difficult to hold ceremonial events in, as there is often bystanders. For this reason, Evorian officials moved the capital to Pinecrest as part of the April 30th Acts.
Government
The Republic of Evoria is a Consular-Republic. Evoria's Consuls were elected but will reign to abdication or death, and the senate was elected/appointed.
Consuls
The Consuls are two leaders that preside over the nation together. They can act on their own authority unless the Senate uanimously votes otherwise. The current consuls are Ryan Cohen and Karl Krajewski. They also act as the court in criminal and civil trials.
Senate
The Senate has 4 seats. Each member of the Senate is elected, with no term limit and each term lasts two months. The Senate has the power to create laws with a 3/4 majority,
Military
The Military of Evoria only holds two branches, the Army and The Navy. Each branch has unique purposes. All male citizens are required to be reserves for the military, and are appointed a branch to be in. During wartime all of these "reserves" lose that title and become active members.
Army
The Army carries out typical military attacks. This incldues guerilla warfare. The leader is appointed by the Consuls. They are armed with nerf and airsoft guns. They have not been deployed in any military operation but go through training to prepare for one.
The Evorian Navy manages the marine warships. These ships however, are unlikely to be used in battle due to Evoria being landlocked. All ships are planned to be stored inside the Capitol building when it finished construction, but for now they are in a classified location.
