The Monarchy of Roskill, is the executive royal institution comprising of the Monarch of Roskill and the Roskillian Royal Family. The Monarch of Roskill - males taking the title of King and females taking the title of Queen - is Head of State of the Kingdom of Roskill. They are also Commander-in-Chief of the Royal Roskill Guard, Governor of the Church of Roskill and Chief Ambassador for the nation. The first and current monarch of the Kingdom of Roskill is Hugh Michael I, who has been on the Throne since 22 October 2022, following the Proclamation of Independence.
Powers and duties
According to the Constitution of the Kingdom of Roskill, the Monarch has sole perogative over the following:
- The position of Commander-in-Chief of the Royal Roskill Guard (Article 3.10);
- The position of Chief Ambassador of the Kingdom of Roskill (Article 3.11);
- The position of Governor of the Church of Roskill (Article 3.12);
- The right of inviolability (Article 3.13);
- The right to create and modify the line of succession at their will (Article 3.14);
- The right to sign treaties with other nations (Article 3.15);
- The right to appoint, swear in and dismiss the President of the National Council, Members of the National Council and other public officials (Article 3.16);
- The right to bestow military ranks to members of the Royal Roskill Guard (Article 3.17);
- The right to appoint and dismiss ambassadors (Article 3.18);
- The right to implement, produce and transfer currency (Article 3.19);
- The right to bestow civil/military orders and titles (Article 3.20);
- The right to approve or deny legislation or motions put forward by the Cabinet and/or the National Council (Article 3.21);
- The right to give or refuse Royal Assent, which can be given verbally, in writing, or through the affixing of their seal or signature (Article 3.21);
- The right to appoint and dismiss appointed representatives to administer some or all of the Monarch's powers and duties (Articles 3.15 to 3.21).

The present full style of the Monarch is as follows:

The full style of the Monarch is only used in extraordinary circumstances. The more commonly used style is as follows:

Standard
The Standard of the Monarch of the Kingdom of Roskill is the official flag used by the Monarch in their capacity as King or Queen of Roskill. It is only permitted to be flown from buildings in which the Monarch is and displayed on vehicles used by the Monarch during the times that they are used by them for official duties.

The Standard of the Monarch of the Kingdom of Roskill depicts four seperate corners, separated by a thin, white cross (similar to that on the Flag of the Kingdom of Roskill). On the top left and bottom right, there is a blue background with a Roskillian Griffin in the centre of each quarter - this represents the Kingdom of Roskill. On the top right and the bottom left, there is a red background with a black hound and an oak tree in the centre of each quarter - this represents the Lithgow family, the Royal Family of the Kingdom of Roskill. In the centre of the standard is the monogram of Hugh Michael I, represented by a capital 'H', a capital 'M', and a smaller capital 'I' in the centre - this represents the personalisation of the current Monarch on the Standard.
