History

The formation of the kingdom's founders began shortly after the start of the second decade of the 21st century. On September 12, 2022, the kingdom's constitution, approved by the General Assembly of the founders of the Kingdom of Yashar-El, was published. This document defined its operational principles and regulations. A month later, on October 14, a form of the document package was published.[1]

On November 1, 2022, the announcement of the establishment of the Kingdom of Yashar-El was made by the kingdom's leader, Shai Kramosta, at the kingdom's central consulate in Zikhron Ya'akov. In the months following the declaration, official forms were published, including passports and license plates.[2]

In early 2023, Kramosta was arrested on Highway 4 near Ashdod by a motorbike patrol from the Traffic Department for using the kingdom's license plates. During the arrest, he identified himself as a diplomat and was released. Two weeks later, he was arrested again at an abandoned complex near the Bayari House in Emek Hefer, which had previously served as a health retreat for state employees. Over 5 members of the kingdom had earlier declared the area as under diplomatic protection, but they were later forcibly removed by Israel Police, and some faced charges. After the initial evacuation, kingdom members repeatedly invaded the complex and were removed by police. Kramosta was charged with forgery of vehicle identification signs, document forgery and use, impersonating a document holder, obstruction of justice, using an invalid registration plate, and driving without a license. He was sentenced at the Acre Magistrate's Court and released a week later.[3] At the same time as the events in Emek Hefer, a consulate was established in a residential building in central Hadera.[4]

On September 2, approximately six months after being evacuated from Bayari House, kingdom members, including Kramosta, took control of a fenced area near Machanayim which had been organized a month earlier. They established a consulate there. The following day, Israel Land Authority inspectors arrived after complaints from farmers and were expelled by kingdom members. On September 4, police officers from Rosh Pina arrived at the site and were forced to break down the fence after the kingdom members refused to allow the police entry and refused to identify themselves. During the incident, Kramosta and three others were arrested. On September 21, an administrative demolition order was issued for the equipment set up at the site.[5]

On September 30, 2024, at 7:00 AM, while one of the kingdom's members was trimming a tree with a chainsaw, he was suddenly attacked by Kramosta. During the attack, the member sustained a fractured orbital bone, nasal fractures, broken ribs, and a broken hand. Kramosta claimed the attacked member had been sent by the Shin Bet and threatened to kill him and his wife.[6]

Ideology and Governance

The kingdom advocates for sovereignty of the individual and personal freedom, emphasizing polyarchy – a system of governance without a singular ruler, where each person is a sovereign in their own right. In this kingdom, every woman is a queen and every man is a king, and equality among members of the kingdom is a core value. All members of the kingdom are part of the "General Assembly of Founders of the Kingdom of Yashar-El," where decisions about the kingdom and its laws are made, and all have an equal voice in decision-making processes. The leader of the assembly, responsible for coordinating discussions, has no special powers and is considered an ordinary member, with influence equal to that of other members. Additionally, the kingdom promotes the idea of the Davidic Kingdom.

The kingdom promotes values of love, mutual respect, peace, and environmentalism. Every member is required by the kingdom's constitution to behave morally, avoid violence, and strive for harmonious relationships with others and with nature. The kingdom also advocates for the "Natural Law" written by its members, which posits that humans have intrinsic values guiding their behavior. There are about 11 natural values resembling the Ten Commandments, including "Thou shalt not kill," trust in truth, share abundance, honor all life, love all creatures, respect nature, remember those before you, live and let live, free will, equality and justice for all, and trust in nature.[7][8]

Name and Symbol of the Kingdom

The name "Yashar-El" originates from the Book of Genesis, Chapter 35, Verse 10

And God said to him, “Your name is Jacob; no longer shall your name be called Jacob, but Israel shall be your name.”

, according to the kingdom's members, the current pronunciation of the word "Israel" from this verse is incorrect, as originally there was no left Shin (שׂ) but a right Shin (שׁ). The left Shin was a diacritical mark added to the verse by the Babylonians.[9]

The kingdom's emblem resembles the emblem of the Twelve Tribes of Israel according to Jewish Kabbalah, a colorful flower on a yellow background with twelve petals (matching the number of tribes). The right half of the large diagonal petals is blue, and the left half is red. The color of the small diagonal petals is light yellow, while the horizontal petals are made up of all the emblem colors in a striped pattern.
