The Pecan Bayou is a slow-moving stream that runs right through the middle of the Federal Republic, which straddles 6 ceremonial states: May, Brownwood, Early, Zephyr, Brookesmith, and Mullin. The Pecan Bayou was named for the pecans Native Americans had collected, such as the Tonkawa and Comanche peoples, along with red cactus fruit, wild plums, and acorns. The region had several explorations prior to the American Civil War, in the years 1849, 1851, and 1855-56.
