The Federal Monarchy of Onopolissia, more commonly known as Onopolissia, is a micronation in Sydney, Australia. After the dissolution of the Federal Monarchy of Australland, James S, younger brother of Lachlan S, former PM of Australland, wished to start his own micronation and so the country was born.
As a new country, Onopolissia has only had two leaders in its history, those being the two boys, Lachlan and James.
In the field of contacting other micronations, no contact has been made as yet, but it is hoped that Onopolissia will eventually build some strong ties.
History
On the 30th of October, James S asked his older brother Lachlan to ‘restart a micronation’. Reluctantly, Lachlan returned to MicroWiki and began Onopolissia. Over the next few days, many accomplishments were made like the composition of the national anthem, the first sporting match and the first military exercise.
Politics and government
Onopolissia consists of a lower house, known as the House of Establishments, and a body similar to an upper house, the king’s board.
The sports minister
Onopolissia has a branch of government dedicated to sports. It is currently led by Rory D and picks the national sporting teams.
Law and order
Non-lethal guns are legal in Onopolissia, and are often used by citizens in recreational activities, such as sport shooting. The country has some rather strange imprisonment techniques. After being arrested, the person will be shot (by a non lethal gun) and given a marking to show that they have broken the law.
Military
The national military inventory consists of 2 types of guns (Disruptor and X Shot), one type of bow (lightning bow), as well as a drone and pressurised air bombs. The military is the only organisation that can legally use the X-Shot and Pressurised Air Bombs.
Geography and climate
Onopolissia is known for its unique weather patterns in relation to the rest of the Sydney Basin. Due to it being located on the edge of a forest, it receives a lot of mist in the early morning, and is quite humid in the afternoons.
Sitting on the side of a valley, the country is home to a fair few waterfalls, some acting as the border with Australia.
Economy
Onopolissia’s currency is the Onopolissian dollar. It is worth roughly two Australian dollars.
Culture and media
Onopolissia has a small film industry that has made a few films in its time. Some notable ones include the documentary “A Turkey’s Life” as well as some fictional creations.
