The Federation of Discordia, more commonly known as Discordia, is a micronational organisation. Originally founded as a general-use community server on 11 November 2023, the administration voted to declare a micronation on 26 August 2024. As of 16 November 2024, Discordia currently stands with over 17 member-states with a combined population of over 4,000. It was announced on 30 September 2024 that Discordia would acquire all members and operations from the Intermicronational Organisation and the Intermicronational Defense Treaty, declaring itself a 'global coalition'.

Discordia, true to the name, operates entirely on the social media and communication platform known as Discord, with servers acting as individual members. All member-states are permitted to act autonomously and conduct governance through their respective administrations, so long as they continue to participate in the Federation's macro-governance structure. Discordia has two houses of government, known as the Senate and the Consul; each member-state is permitted up to 2 seats on the Consul and 1 seat on the Senate. How each member-state determines their seat is up to the discretion of their administrations, although the Federation recommends a democratic vote. All meetings take place in the Void, the Capitol of Discordia. Both houses, as well as the Void, are led by an administrative body more commonly known as the Family.

Discordia takes a strong stance in favor of the micronational movement. Jacob W. Royster, the 1st High King of the Federation of Discordia, has stated that "no Man shall be complete without the foundation of a land that is truly His; free of malice and free from scorn". The Federation has worked alongside other micronational organizations, such as the Inter-Server Treaty Organisation, the Micronational Alliance, and the League of Nations to assemble what they believe to be the future of micronationalism- a 'body of independent states that recognize and acknowledge the claims represented by their efforts on a global scale'.

History

The Kingdom of Man (2021-2022)

Discordia was originally founded in 2021 as the Kingdom of the Sun, an online community primarily centered on the tabletop role-playing game Dungeons & Dragons and user-generated content based on the Japanese shoot-em-up franchise Touhou Project. In December 2022, the community's administrator Jacob Royster partnered with content creators Dan Tansky and a v-tuber known as the Fridge Goddess to create a series of communities known as MAXLVL on 1 January 2023, Roystercord on 19 March 2023, and Inabacord on 1 April 2023, each with separate themes to appeal to certain niches and raise membership. On 25 May 2023, this umbrella of member-states would be nationalized as the Kingdom of Man, establishing real-life territorial claims in Northeast Wisconsin and finding relative peace in the operation of tabletop role-playing campaigns including Dungeons & Dragons (third edition), Pathfinder (first edition), and Warhammer 40K (eighth edition).

The Twin Wars of Ruin (2023)

On 24 August 2023, a civil conflict known as the Clover War erupted over the state of the Kingdom of Man, wherein former high-ranking associates began a coup to cease power over daily operations through a series of online raids, password scalpers, doxxing attempts, manufactured allegations and, eventually, threats made on the lives of Royster and his administration. This resulted in at least 2 members' termination from their place of employment, which caused the Kingdom to declare war and begin an investigation. On 10 October 2023, the Kingdom's investigation led them to the Coffin, an online community based around the indie visual novel The Coffin of Andy and Leyley, where over 50 users produced claims of racism, grooming, pedophilia, and other degenerate acts being performed by the owner of the server, known colloquially as SonnyJ the Gravekeeper.

On 11 October 2023, it was revealed that Coffin associates made a pact between Kingdom rebels and anonymous users from 4chan- specifically /v/, the forum board for video games- to create a harassment campaign that would shut down the Kingdom and permanently defame Kingdom administration. On 27 October 2023, the Clover War came to an end after the events of the 2023 4chan Autumn Babby Cup, when /v/ lost to /vg/ in the Group Stage and /mlp/- the forum board for fans of My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic- placed 2nd. In celebration, The Kingdom of Man streamed every episode and movie produced by the My Little Pony brand for several days straight, and Royster would become legally married to a printed-out picture of Twilight Sparkle through the use of a Reverend he paid five US dollars for on Fiverr.

On 10 November 2023, the Coffin Manifesto, a several-hundred-long page document with screenshots allegedly detailing a romantic affair between SonnyJ the Gravekeeper and a 16-year-old girl as well as his knowledge, permission, and active involvement for minors to enter spaces designed for users above the age of 18, was published by a tripartisan coalition containing the Kingdom of Man led by King Royster, the Anti-Incest Association led by Lord Brouly the Untamed, and the Land of Two led by President Shtuffs. The handling of the situation was received negatively, sparking what would be known as the Three Siblings War between all four servers; Kingdom officials recruited displaced refugees and freedom fighters to create a new movement. On 11 November 2023 at 11:11 PM CST, the Kingdom of Man was rebranded to the Republic of Coffincord, approving over 300 citizens in the first 15 days.

The Three Siblings War ended on 28 November 2023, when individuals named in the Coffin Manifesto verified that the allegations were truthful, issued public apologies, and resigned. Coffincord responded with a celebration that lasted for two days straight; however, in the heat of the celebration, President Royster had become physically belligerent with First Lady Twilight Sparkle-Royster, causing the paper to tear irreparably and effectively killing her. This was the only casualty of the Three Siblings War, and President Royster was charged with conspiracy to commit uxoricide. The Republic of Coffincord voted to cease operation and distance themselves from the war, officially becoming the nation-state of Crypt.

The Federation of Discordia (2023-2024)

According to Royster, "the effort to rehome and relocate all members after the Twin Wars [of Ruin] ended up being harder than winning the war". Immigrant citizens continued to participate in acts of degeneracy that the republic sought to prevent, and on 9 January 2024, a mass exodus of more than 100 'low-quality' members took place, later referred to as the Great Degenerate Massacre or the First Beefening. This started a periodic series of ban waves that, according to former Senate member HRH Damg of Astoria, "trimmed the fat and apperently [sic] separated the weak from the strong". On 12 January 2024, Crypt announced a lengthy series of rule changes, premiered a Japanese-style AI-powered mascot known as Crypt-Chan, and launched a national eSports initiative with teams participating in Minecraft, Clash of Clans, and Clash Royale, inciting more activity from underrepresented populations. After a year rife with asylum-grade controversy and internet drama, peace returns to the nation.

The Crypt experiences a significant increase in user activity and approval, and by 30 January 2024, it becomes the third-highest-rated Discord server in the world (according to aggregated results on DISBOARD, DiscordTree, Discadia, and Top.gg). Preparations ensue to turn the Crypt into a micronational organisation and amplify its presence in the Discordian ecosphere. On 2 February 2024 at 1:13 PM CST, the Afterhour Club is founded for verifiable users above the age of 18. On 13 July 2024 at 9:30 PM CST, the Phantasm is founded with an automated system that deletes all messages after 24 hours and anonymizes its users. On 12 August 2024 at 7:59 PM CST, the Catacomb is founded for the operation of tabletop role-playing discussion, campaign hosting, and competitive pen-and-paper gaming.

On 27 August 2024 at 1:45 PM CST, Royster invokes the foundation of the Federation of Discordia with 9 founding member-states among a litany of programs to improve user quality and engagement. On 04 October 2024 at 8:40 PM CST, General Maso of Crypt gives the State of Chillvoid, a general-use online community turned-micronation, to Royster in exchange for political power in the Federation. After a brief revolt, Chill-Void votes to become the Principality of the Void. On 16 November 2024, Royster is elected the President of the Intermicronational Organization, and its member-states are merged with the Federation.

Politics and Government

The Federation of Discordia operates as a collective set of administrations as determined by community leaders. When decisions need to be made on behalf of multiple servers and a supermajority is not reached in either house, the decision will go to the Royalty of the Federation of Discordia.

Royalty

Prior to the structure of macro-governance, the Federation of Discordia was led by a group of allies known as the Royals.

High King of the Federation: The High King was a non-elected position that had the final word in legislative decisions and long-term strategic plans devised by the Federation and its members. They were responsible for the assignment of Royals in the event that one is needed.

King of the Federation: The King was a non-elected position that had supreme authority over the Royals, as well as overarching powers in the Senate and Consul.

Archduke of the Federation: The Archduke was a non-elected position that had authority over the Senate.

Duke of the Federation: The Duke was a non-elected position that had authority over the Consul.

Marquess of the Federation: The Marquess was a non-elected position that had authority over the Moderators.

Count of the Federation: The Count was a non-elected position that had authority over the common users.

Viscount of the Federation: The Viscount was a title given to the most active user to represent the voice of the people.

Legislature

The legislative branch of Discordia is known as the Chambers of Discordia.

Senate

The Senators are responsible for making decisions that benefit the Federation's growth and development. Each member-state receives 1 seat on the Senate. The 2nd Senate of Discordia has yet to be determined.

Consul

The Councilmen are active members that represent the member-state they hail from. Each member-state receives 2 seats on the Consul. The 2nd Council of Discordia has yet to be determined.

Political Parties

At this time, political parties have yet to form in Discordia, as prior elections have been individualistic and non-partisan.

Law and Order

Legal decisions involving users of any member-state are performed by the administrations of that member-state. Any affair that involves a violation of Federation rules from an administrative-level user or officer of a member-state is to be handled by the Royals.

Military

The military of the Federation of Discordia is an at-will position available for any person who resides in any member-state. Although acts of aggression are not permitted by Discord, tasks such as building regex filters for AutoMods in all servers, maintaining a 24/7 chat moderation schedule, and performing well in eSports exhibitions are all relevant tasks.

You do not need this section unless your micronation previously recognized states that are now defunct. Format this list like the other three above.

Administrative regions

Explain your nation's claim system, and the various types of constituencies your nation may have, for example, the difference between a district and a territory. It is preferred that you do not discuss each constituency in this section. Instead, the names of each constituency in the table should be linked to their own separate articles. You can add and remove columns as you wish, but generally, include fields for the flags (which should be kept small, at most 100px wide (less if more rows listed) and have a border), name, and important fields such as area, population, governor and/or representative (or equivalent position). You do not need to include a column for a seal, flag, or coat of arms for each constituency if it they do not have one.

Geography and climate

This is an example of a picture in your article. Pictures make an article look a lot better, more informative and more interesting. Ideally, images should not be larger than 200 pixels in width.

Use this section to write about the flora, fauna, terrain, climate, weather, and location of your micronation. A good template for listing annual temperature data is {{Weather box}}.

Economy

Insert fiscal information, such as the micronation's exports, imports, and industries. You can briefly discuss the micronation's currency but that should generally be kept in a separate article.

Culture

Insert information about the micronation's holidays, customs, education, spoken languages, arts, the press, and television here.

Holidays

It is recommended to use the following table for holidays. It should go without saying that the provided holiday is merely an example.

Date Name Remarks
